The Ark Animal Welfare Society Featured
The Ark Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit registered charity formed in Barbados in 1998. We are a multi-national group dedicated to animal rights and have associated status with The RSPCA INTERNATIONAL. Caring passionately about the welfare of animals, we rescue, rehabilitate and re-home stray and unwanted dogs in Barbados. With a no kill policy, we care for them until new homes can be found, giving them shelter and the highest standards of kennelling and veterinary care. Unfortunately we do not have the space or facilities to shelter cats but we do assist in re-homing them and finding temporary foster homes. Our organisation is run by a team of valued and dedicated volunteers. We are funded solely by donations and fundraising events. Our Mission Statement To raise awareness of the needs of animals. To protect them and promote their well-being by encouraging, through education, positive relationships between animals and people. We are open to visitors 7 days a week – closing at 3pm. Ideally, and to avoid cleaning and feeding times, its best you come between 10am-11.30am and 1pm-2.30pm
