Antigua & Barbuda's Toronto consulate on Monday launched its website www.antiguabarbudaconsulate.ca as the nation marked its 29th year of independence.
The site, according to a release, aims to provide a range of information about the twin-island state, and encompasses economic, business and investment, and general interests, along with information for those who require visa and passport applications or processing of other documents.
“We will use the website as a tool to help us exercise our functions more effectively and efficiently in terms of promoting the interests of Antigua & Barbuda in Canada,” said Consul General Janil Greenaway. “It is a great resource and a great means of reaching anyone in Canada or anywhere in the world ... Our goal is to make relevant information easily accessible to nationals in Canada, visitors, investors, or anyone who has an interest in Antigua & Barbuda.”
The site contains a country profile, a section which outlines the services the Consulate provides and information on employment and immigration, passport and visa requirements and information for foreign students studying in Antigua & Barbuda. There is also a business and investment section which provides information on commercial enterprises, requirements for investment in Antigua & Barbuda and key sectors of economic activity on the island.
“We expect that the site will help us improve the quality of our service to the public and also help us reach a broader audience across Canada,” Greenaway said.
Making visa and passport forms available online will shorten the processing time, since users will no longer have to wait for the documents to be mailed out or come to the office to collect them. The site also features Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer’s 2010 Independence message to nationals living in North America.
The Consulate held an official service of thanksgiving on Sunday November 7 at the Asbury and West United Church in Toronto.

Beauty, what I meant was that the URL doesn't work from the page. You should not have to type it in. Thank you anyway.
