Antigua St. john's - Following its pioneering work to elaborate the OECS Network of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (NETHE), the Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with two prominent tourism and hospitality training facilities in the Dominican Republic.
The signing ceremonies took place earlier this week in Santo Domingo marking the culmination of a series of earlier visits and discussions between the ABHTI, the Ministry of Tourism and the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE).
Signing on behalf of the ABHTI were Ms. Desiree Edwards, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Mr. Calvin Ambrose, the Executive Director. Mrs. Iris Peres Arias, Vice Minister signed for the Ministry of Tourism while Dr. Julio Guzman, Chancellor and Ms Odile Camilo, Vice Chancellor of Academic affairs initialed the agreement for UNIBE.
As part of the MOUs, the Parties agree to undertake collaboration in among other things foreign studies, certificate in continuing education, student and faculty exchange, internships, exchange of information including library resources, research publications and capacity building in graduate programmes.
