In a cooler area of St John’s lies a restaurant. This restaurant has a bar, an outdoor balcony, and an indoor seating area. It also has some of the finest service I have yet encountered in Antigua.

This restaurant is Big Banana.

Big Banana has some nice pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads, and the like. Ultimately, it is an excellent diner for the family or for a small excursion with your friend for lunch.

The restaurant serves fairly large meals at somewhat reasonable prices, has a respectable list of drinks (although the wines were titled White and Red!) and as I said earlier, very friendly and professional staff.

Arriving at Big Banana, I took my seat and looked over the menu. I decided on a starter of chicken wings, BBQ flavour, and seeing the pizza on the logo, I insisted on trying a small margherita (which was actually pretty large), as well as the seafood pasta, and for dessert some sweet chocolate cake.

The first thing was the wings. The sauce was truly very good and very messy. A fine starter, especially if you bring the kids around. Next arrived the notorious pizza of Big Banana, hailed around the island as one of the finest.

I was surprised when the small pizza I ordered arrived, mainly because the thing was huge! I dug in hungrily, and my culinary desires were treated to a nice pizza. Although not exactly an Italian stallion, the pizza was definitely on the better side of the meter.
