Valley Church Beach

The Valley Church Beach is located on the western coast of the island just past Jolly Harbour and is THE picnic spot. There is ample parking and the many trees that line the shore provide overwhelming shade for beachgoers.

Except on weekends or special holiday, the Valley Church Beach is not usually crowded and is the perfect place to have a quiet family picnic, throw up a hammock and take a nap, or pitch a tent and camp out all day long.

Entrance to the beach is directly west and opposite its namesake – the Valley Church. The calm crystal clear turquoise water is perfect for swimming and the soft white sand is almost dreamlike.

Valley Church Beach is just around the rocks from the famous Fryes Beach, and only 8 or so miles from St. John’s City.
