#3 Fed up with prejudice » 2009-12-03 01:38

re: Concerned Traveler--I live in Antigua and am white. I have seen a lot of rude treatment the other way, from Antiguans because I am not Antiguan--nativ e business owners ARE that rude. I've found that if you approach people with friendliness and an open attitude, you get back the same. And if you approach with demands, rudeness and hostility, you will get the same.

SubCat= Bad Management

#2 Concerned Traveller » 2009-09-07 12:58

I went to Antigua and there was a blond haired female manager behind the desk. She was rude and obnoxious! She was also very prejudice. She stated that she could see I was Antiguan, therefore I did not need an ID but my friend would have to have one since he was not black. I was shocked because the native business owners are NEVER this rude. It was clear that she was a foreigner trying to capitalize on the country. It was my friend's first trip to the island. He had $2 million to invest in the island ina progressive business as goodwill. We have enough rude people to deal with where we are from. Advice to Antiguans! Get the non adaptive foreign business owners out. They are robbing the country of its identity.:'(
