Antigua St. John’s - To wrap up the celebration of June as the Month of Romance, Antigua & Barbuda’s North American tourism offices have released the Romance issue of the “A & B BUZZ”.

The monthly e-magazine highlights the diverse offerings that the country has to offer couples to ignite passions and celebrate love, at any stage of their relationship, such as to exchange nuptials, honeymoon, renew wedding vows, celebrate an anniversary, or an engagement proposal.

With no residency requirement or complicated paperwork, getting married in Antigua and Barbuda is easy, and same day weddings can be easily coordinated, even for cruise passengers. This feature presents the destination’s strengths in the wedding and honeymoon market and how recent accolades from About.com and Brides Magazine further validate Antigua and Barbuda’s competitive position.

Jacky Adams and Ron Critchlow, this year’s destination wedding contest winners, are featured on the cover of the Romance issue.

Their eco chic wedding, held at Nonsuch Bay Resort on June 16, reflects the simplicity and cachet that is sought by many eco conscious couples. Green weddings are a growing trend among couples committed to the environment and who want to incorporate green elements into their celebration.

The importance of a wedding planner is also highlighted and three local wedding planners are profiled. These specialists share their unique experiences in meeting the diverse demands of couples and the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that they feel in helping couples create their dream weddings.

The honeymoon is critical and couples often have bucket lists. “What is your Honeymoon Personality?” provides a short quiz to help couples figure out their honeymoon priorities and determine which local resort best matches their needs.

“Weddings and honeymoons remain a strong niche for the destination and this issue showcases some of the unique assets that Antigua and Barbuda has to offer as ‘The Romance Capital of the Caribbean.’ Using vibrant images from weddings and anecdotes from local service providers helps to authenticate our message that the romantic possibilities in Antigua and Barbuda are endless,” US Director of Tourism, Derede Samuel-Whitlock said.
