Antigua St John's - The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Science & Technology (MIBTST) officially launched the 2011 ICTFEST on Tuesday August 9th 2011 under the theme, “ICTFEST 2011: Empowering the Nation, Improving Lives.”
The FEST, which is in its seventh year, will be held on October 12th and 13th at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center.
The MIBTST is inviting businesses from across the twin island state and beyond to come to the FEST and present their latest work in upstream Information Communication Technology (ICT) innovation.
“ICTs for Antigua and Barbuda is one of the key pillars that this government is encouraging, and we see it as a truly empowering phenomenon for our education system.” Minister of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Science & Technology Dr the Honourable Edmond Mansoor said.
The 2011 ICTFEST will feature Interactive Exhibitions, Interactive Seminars and Technology competitions. This year’s FEST will also feature a new outdoor 15,000 square foot exhibition space.
Over the years, individuals participating in the FEST have included ICT companies, public authorities and non-profit organisations. In 2010, over 30 exhibitors took advantage of the FEST to showcase their products; that number is expected to double in 2011.
Telecommunications Officer in the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Science & Technology, Clement Samuel indicated the ICTFEST provides an ideal platform for participants to extend their business reach and make valuable new contacts.
“It has been a fantastic event over the previous six years, and there is nothing to suggest that this year will be anything less, in fact we think that this year will surpass anything that we have done before.” Samuel said.

Is there any hope of impressing me this year? Will Bill Gates be a speaker? If I hear how "My government did this or that" one more time I will have to be hospitalized.
