Antigua and Barbuda Represented at e-Govt Workshop

Antigua & Barbuda is being represented at a one week e-Government workshop in Singapore from June 20-24. The session will equip Asha Christian-Philip, special projects co-ordinator within the Ministry of Information, to learn frameworks for e-Government, strategic IT planning, and business process engineering.
The training course, according to a government release, is intended to equip senior public sector managers working in public sector initiatives on national ICT planning and implementation, and on the introduction of e-Government in their respective countries.
It will also cover a range of emerging practices and examples of how e-Government services can be undertaken by public sector organisations to strategically plan and transform their organisation.
The workshop is timely, the release noted, as Antigua & Barbuda has joined other public sector organisations across the Caribbean that are embracing the concept of e-Government to better respond to the new challenges and opportunities in the digital age.
With new technologies and the explosive growth of the Internet, governments can provide public services and information in a much more consistent, streamlined and personalised way.
The workshop will provide an understanding of e-Government and its evolution, share IT and e-Government journey of successful models like Singapore – master-planning, programmes and initiatives and critical success factors.
Additionally, the workshop provides an opportunity for participants to share their country’s experience on e-Government and to develop an e-Government action plan.
