Antigua St John's - D’Jeri Raymond and doubles partner Daniela Obando (HON), having secured a spot in the doubles quarter finals after defeating the Colombian doubles team of Luisa Echeverry and Juliana Valero 2-6, 6-4,10-5 tie break, received a walk-over into the doubles semi-finals.

The Grand Slam Fund is designed to encourage the establishment of both junior and professional circuits, and to assist players directly, through touring teams or travel grants, to gain international competitive experience.

This has helped increase the number of nations represented in mainstream international competition. (Beneficiaries of this fund through touring team selection were Azarenka (Belarus), Na Li (China) and Juan martin del Portro (ARG).)
