The Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Association will host its second of three individual time trials for the season on Sunday August 28.
The ABACA 16-mile Individual Time Trial, originally slated to take place in July, will start at 3 pm in front of the PRG. The riders will start individually at one-minute intervals and proceed up Factory Road, up North Sound, and to Mount Joy Roundabout for two laps, finishing back at the PRG.
The event is expected to feature the island’s best time trial riders, which include 2011 National Time Trial Champion Marvin Spencer, just recovering from injuries sustained in his fall in the ABACA 3-stage race.
However, the public can expect to see the re-match from the National Champion’s runner up, Robert Marsh, as his preparation for the 2011 Caribbean Cycling Championships Time trial to be held next month in Jamaica is in full strength.
Strong competition can also come from Neil Lloyd, Ken Jackson, Garfield Henry, and Wayne Henry. The record time on the course is 35:51, set by Jyme Bridges last year.
