Antigua St. John's - The three professional triathletes slated to compete in the Tinman Rohr Aquathlon & 10k swim will spend two days in Barbuda as part of a week of development efforts.
French professionals Benjamin Sanson and Stephane Poulat along with USA female-pro Katya Meyers will be in the sister isle from Tuesday March 5th to Wednesday March 6th.
They will offer free swimming and running classes to school children, speak about their experiences as professional triathletes and hope to offer inspiration to aspiring athletes.
The Wadadli Triathlon Club is also teaming up with the government’s New Media Unit to film the experience as part of efforts to promote sports tourism in Antigua & Barbuda.
The programme is made possible by the support of the Barbuda Express Ferry, the It’s A Bit Fishy restaurant and the Barbuda Tourism Office along with the assistance of Senator Calvin Gore, Peter Cuffy and Principal of the Sir McChesney George High School, John Mussington.
