Antigua, St. John’s - The consultant charged with developing a blueprint for the National Institute of Sports said progress is being made towards the operationalisation of the online facility that could be in place within a year.
Candine Roberts said though the plan is still in the “embryonic stage”, she has been meeting with stakeholders and will continue discussions in the New Year.
Talks are also expected with representatives of the National Accreditation Agency to ensure that the training is properly recognized, she told Caribarena.
“I’m going to speak with stakeholders, including local clubs and organisations so I can get feedback from them about what programmes they’re holding and what additional training they are hoping to hold or will require,” she explained.
According to the consultant, they do not intend to reinvent the wheel but to provide support for associations where necessary, and act as a facilitator.
