Antigua St. John's - The East Caribbean Volleyball Association Senior Women’s Super-8 Championship got on the way last night at the YMCA Complex with a total of 8 teams taking part, including St Lucia, Grenada, Dominica, St Kitts, Anguilla, The BVI, St Vincent & the Grenadines and host Antigua & Barbuda.
The tournament, which will run until Sunday November 25th ,started with the first match without an opening ceremony due to the late arrivals of some of the teams.
In the first match St Kitts & Nevis beat St Vincent & the Grenadines 3 sets to 1: 25-9, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-22.
Brian Charles is the head referee and tournament Director, while Alister Benjamin is the Antigua & Barbuda head referee along with Henry Matthew, who is the referee for Antigua and Grenada.
Olson Joseph is referee for Antigua and the BVI, Belvillle Smith is the referee for St Kitts, and Shelon Hunte the referee for St. Lucia.

The official opening ceremony was rescheduled.
