Antigua St. John's - On the eve of the opening ceremony for the Coca Cola LCA ITF Jr Tournament on August 6, Antigua & Barbuda’s Jessica Isaac was successful in her bid for a main draw spot in the girls Únder 14 competition.
In her final round robin qualifying match, Isaac defeated Megan Williams of St. Lucia in straight sets 4-2, 4-0. This final round robin win positioned Isaac as the #2 seed going into the girls’ U14 main draw.
Shakir Elvin fell short of securing a spot in the boys’ Under18 main draw after he lost to Gianlucca Massa of the United States 6-0, 6-1. Cordell William Jr also suffered a loss against Taquel Lewis of St. Lucia 4-1, 4-0.
Williams Jr's loss on Monday nullified his chances of making it to the main draw; however, he will play the boys’ U14 consolation draw as the #1 seed.
