Billy’s Food Mart Circuit Race Wraps Cycling Season

Jyme BridgesAntigua St. John’s – This Sunday, July 15, the Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Association (ABACA) will host its 13th race for the 2012 season before breaking for the Carnival festivities.

The Annual Billy’s Food Mart Circuit Race sponsored by Food Brokerage Services is due to pedal off from the top of Friar’s Hill at 3 pm.

The 12-lap race will take the route through Langford’s, left onto Blue Waters main road, Marble Hill, left onto the Oil Refinery bypass and back onto Friar’s Hill Road.

The reigning champion, Jyme Bridges, is expected to defend his title, but other strong competition may come from National Sportsman Robert Marsh, Marvin Spencer, Andre Simon, Omari King, Brian Lyn, Dale Richardson, Clint Henry, and Neil Lloyd.

Also expected to do battle in the B-Class are Ashley Rhoades, Tesheed Gordon, Mervin Gore, Walton Francis and Ashfield Vigo.

National Sportswoman Tamiko Butler will not be competing in the Female Class as she is currently doing a three-week racing stint in Vancouver, Canada, so in that category the fight will be between Lindsay Duffy and Kevinia Francis.
