Antigua St John's - Cordell Williams Jr and Ayden Ambrose have been selected to represent Antigua & Barbuda at the COTECC Wilson Team Championships sponsored by Caribbean Union Bank.
The 2nd Annual Confederation of the Tennis in Central America & the Caribbean (COTECC) Wilson Team Championships will be hosted by the Puerto Rico Tennis Association in Salinas Puerto Rico from July 15 to 22.
This event, supported by the Grand Slam Development Fund (GSDF) invites top under 12 players born between 2000 and 2002 from Central America and the Caribbean..
The selection of Cordell Williams jr and Ayden Ambrose was made based on their performances and level of development over the past year.
Meanwhile, a new partner, Caribbean Union Bank (CUB), has come on board with the ABMTA with the sole aim of assisting in our junior development program.
It is estimated that this partnership will be for 4 years as indicated by the directors of CUB and will greatly assist us in ensuring that we have a team compete in this prestigious event for years to come.
ITF / COTECC team events are geared at developing the junior athlete ensuring that their Level of play be risen for the next level of play which is the U14 competition.
HALCYON TENNIS CLUB MENS DOUBLES OPEN The HALCYON TENNIS CLUB Mens Doubles Open completed. It was an Saturday afternoon of fun, entertainment and quality match play.
As one of the spectators said " this doubles tournament was of the quality to be shown on our local television.

Carlton Bedminster & partner Osei Harris were victorious taking the doubles championship over Jerry Williams/Junior Bennett in a three set trilogy 6-7(5-7), 7-6 (7-3), 6-1
This after defeating the team of Leslie Whyte/Ken Gonsalves in the semi Finals winning 6-4, 6-1.
It is the aim of the Tennis Association in colaboration with all clubs on island to have more competitions of this nature both singles and doubles. We encourage all tennis players to get involved and we encourage enthusiats to support.
Mothers Day Ladies Doubles TournamentTennis Antigua saw another beautiful day of tennis. The ladies travelled to the grass courts of Temo Sports in English Harbour to display their talent. This tournament the brain child of Samantha Johnson brought together 15 ladies to compete in a round robin doubles tournament.
Winners of this tournament was Madeline Fraser & Partner Alicia Williams defeated Louisa Hales & partner Kirsty 6-2
While there was a lot of competitive spirit we also saw these ladies competing in a fun environment.
The ABTA encourages more adult tournament of this nature.
