Bridges Shines in Folly Hill EventAntigua St john's - Jyme Bridges shows that he is getting back his forms at the Terminix Folly Hill Road Race on Sunday 13th May.

Bridges gave great representation for the Rattlers Club in the Team Terminix hosted event when he found himself riding the race all alone from 7 miles into the 48 mile race.

Jyme and Marsh separated themselves from the rest of the riders 2 miles into the race however; the Sugar Mill hill on the Airport road he launches an attack to separate himself from Marsh.



The island’s sportsman certainly didn’t give up and continued his chase that lasted to the finish of the race.

Bridges was confident in his preparation for the race as he blazed over the island hardest climb, Folly Hill easily winning one of the hardest race on the 2012 calendar.

Bridges won the race in a time of 2:04.17, over 2 minutes ahead of Robert Marsh of Club Savoy who was 2nd in a time of 2:06.44.

Team Terminix top rider, Marvin Spencer also gave a great ride, and was placed 3rd in a time of 2:07.47.

Club Savoy, Dale Richardson kept a steady pace from Falmouth to the finish( time of 2:10.10) placing him 4th ahead of his son, Omari King who recently joined the Rattlers Club.

Walton Francis continues to perform at the top of the B-Class by winning Sunday’s race.

Walton out sprinted his Rattlers teammate to capture Sunday’s race, he completed the course in a time of 2:14.08 ahead of Tesheed Gordon.

3rd place went to Ashley Rhodes who unfortunately suffered 2 punctures. He completed the course in a time of 2:20.22.

Colin James captured the Junior Class ahead of Jaleel Cannonier. James completed the reduced junior’s course in a time of 2:14.08 to place 1st. Cannonier placed 2nd in a time of 2:28.50.

It was an easy race for the island’s future cycling star, Joel Phillip. The young Team Terminix rider stayed with the main elite group for the duration of the course set for Cadets to win his race in a time of 1:31.39 ahead of Nigel Fabian who placed 2nd in a time of 1:40.47.

Kevinia Francis won her first race for season to finish ahead of Lindsay Duffy. The Road Runners Club duet battled their way throughout the reduced female course with Kavina being the victor, she completed the course in a time of 2:20.26 whilst Duffy placed 2nd in a time of 2:23.53.

The Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Association President, Cliff Williams complemented the Team Terminix for successfully pulling off their first event and emphasized how much he is looking forward to continue working with the club in the future. Special thanks also go out to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

Meanwhile, the Antigua and Barbuda Cycling Association will host a circuit race this coming Sunday 20th May on the roads surrounding the Sir Vivian Stadium.



The ABACA 25 laps Circuit race will take place at 2 pm on the eastern roads at the Sir Vivian Stadium.

The course is more suitable for sprinters where names like Neil Lloyd, Omari King, Ken Jackson, Jyme Bridges and Jaleel Cannonier will surface.
