Antigua St John's - Head of the ABFA Women’s Football Committee Gwen Salmon is looking for more players to participate in the ABFA Women’s League.
The league will kick off on March 31 with an opening ceremony. The committee invited girls 13 and older to join clubs within their community, and soccer academies, to participate in the upcoming women’s football season.
The league will consist of division one for seniors and division two for juniors.
Salmon said, “This is an exciting time for women’s football, and the ABFA Women’s Committee. I have a dedicated team and we are looking towards putting on one of the most exciting competitive seasons in the history of women’s football in Antigua & Barbuda."
She added, “There are a lot of benefits in women’s football today, and I am calling on former players to represent at all level as referees, administrators, and coaches.
"I would also like to see more clubs in the other ABFA Leagues incorporate Women’s football within their structure, working along with past female players who aspire to be a coach one day; this can only enhanced our league and the national teams."
