The Seaview Farm FC regained their status as leaders in the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s (ABFA) First Division football competition on Tuesday when they defeated Westham 3-1.
Farm had goals from Ikah Codrington in the ninth minute, Desmond “Zico” Bleau in the 46th minute, and Rolston “Tris” Phillip, who hit the back of the net in minute 50. Westham’s lone strike came from Endegua Malone, who scored in the 68th minute.
The victory lifted Farm to 18 points, one more than Bullets, who are on 17 following their one-nil victory over Freeman’s Village on Tuesday. LIME Empire occupies the third position in the standings with 16 points, but have played one match less than both Farm and Bullets.
A 15th minute strike from Nya Browne was however all it took to lift Bullets past the struggling Freeman’s Village team, who played at home on Tuesday. The player broke free on the left side of the field to put a tame shot past the diving Village custodian, who should have done better to block the near-post attempt. The defeat means that Village, who had a good start in the competition with back-to-back victories, remains on nine points after seven showings.
