Antigua St. John's - The Main Sponsor of the 2012 Business League Football Competition Amir Hourani and Cool & Smooth have come forward to assist footballer Anthony Scott, who sustained a broken leg.
The assistance was extended to Scott on Saturday morning, when a quantity of clothing including sleeveless jerseys, underwears and shorts was delivered to him, since regular long pants would not be suitable for him at this time.
Scott was injured while playing for his Business League Football team WIOC at King George V Grounds on Saturday November 24 against Sandals Grande Antigua. Hearing of the incident, Cool & Smooth immediately offered assistance.
Hourani said throughout time of his injury, which may run until April, Cool & Smooth will assist Scott in any way possible.
Officials from the Ministry of Sports including Senior Sports Officer Austin Richards Sr, Senior Cricket Umpire Clancy Mack and Field Officer Vanroy Burnes, coordinators of the program visited Scott at his home on Thursday morning to express their regret for the injury.
Discussions are ongoing with WIOC relating to Scott getting to the hospital and other places he needs to go during his period of incapacity. It is understood that Scott is set to Graduate from his school sometime later this month.
In the meantime, the final round of preliminaries were played on Saturday December 01, and Sandals Grande Antigua won by default over Immigration, Mount St Johns Medical Center also won by default over Grande Pineapple, while AS Bryden beat Caribbean Development Ltd 3 Goals to 1 at King George V Grounds.
Arthur Reubel, Emmanuel Jean and Ashden Isaac all scored a goal for AS Bryden, while Keithroy Bramble scored the lone goal for Caribbean Development Ltd.
In a top-of-the-table clash at the St Johnstons Village Complex APUA Water beat CSR Launchers 2 Goals to 1. Darren Warner and Tesfa Francis scored a goal each for APUA Water, while Kemoy Alexander scored the lone goal for CSR Launchers.
At the English Harbor Grounds, F&G Trading beat National Parks Authority 3 Goals to 1. Steven Hughes scored twice and Igan Samuel scored once for F&G Trading, while Lakeme Francis scored for National Parks.
