Cricket Stars Coming to Antigua

Sulieman-BennAntigua St. John's - Cricket lovers will have an opportunity to meet some of their favourite past West Indies players during this year’s Antigua and Barbuda International Masters 20/20 Cricket Fest.

Hamish Anthony will be joined by Sulieman Benn, Vasbert Drakes, Keith Arthurton and Stuart Williams for four days of appearances, coaching sessions and to play in an exhibition match against the Combined Masters team on Saturday, November 17.

The five visiting past players have over 300 West Indies Test, ODI and T20 matches between them, with careers that span over three decades from the heady days of the ‘80s to the more challenging latter years. However, they all still enjoy cricket and continue to be involved, whether, as in the case of Benn, still playing for country, or coaching, in the case of Anthony, Arthurton, Drakes and Williams.

“We are so happy that they have all agreed to come and be part of this year’s Cricket Fest, especially as each past player brings his own magic to the event” says one of the event organisers, Tracy Guerrero.

Anthony, Benn, Drakes, Arthurton and Williams will join a host of Antiguan cricketers, including legends Kenneth Benjamin and Ridley Jacobs as well as Winston Benjamin; Sylvester Joseph; Dave Joseph; Anthony Martin; Austin Richards Jr; Devon Thomas; Gavin Tonge; Kerry Jeremy; Anthony Merrick; Ralston Otto and Tyrone Williams for a special exhibition match against a Combined Masters team on Saturday, November 17.

“I know the guys are really looking forward to being a part of the event, and we cannot thank them enough for their willingness to be here and making this year’s Masters 20/20 bigger and better,” adds Guerrero.
