For people acknowledging the “...Supremacy of God,” and mindful of “...Freedom of Conscience,” it might not be too difficult in accepting the biblical teachings that “...Jesus Christ” descended from the heavens to bear the sins of mankind.
The Scripture teaches that amidst evil treacherous and blasphemous men, ‘He’ was brutally whipped, treated scornfully and with utter degradation. Those who misunderstood his earthly purpose had “...falsely accused and spitefully placed upon ‘His’ head a Crown of thorns.” He was then forced into carrying a “...Wooden Cross to Calvary” [KJV. Luke 23:33]. Nailed to the cross, ‘He’ bled and painfully suffered, yet with compassion and love of humanity, and without “...tenseness, anguish and guilt,” He appealed to the Heavenly Father “...Forgive those who knew not what they had done” to me [Luke: 23: 34]. Man possesses no such attributes of “...compassion, patience, tolerance, love and understanding.” Despite ‘His’ ordeal, man continues in rebelling against that which ‘He’ had commanded and/or forbidden and had created situations for the weak-willed to be transformed into ferocious villains.
THROUGH HISTORYDown through the pages of history, the unpredictability of man’s nature, though often found to be mindboggling, behavioral traits were to be keenly observed, assessed, understood and where necessary, addressed. Such an understanding usually helps in averting the inevitability of human troubles and rampage. Frequently, it was shown that blatant disregard for “...human rights, dignity and worth,” had been some of the most sensitive and contentious issues that had provoked human wrath. These are also fundamental to his “...morale, unstinting loyalty, allegiance and commitment.” Similarly, since man’s “...perceived sense and belief of that which constitutes “...natural; ...social and legal justice,” he may not be treated “...condescendingly, tritely or dismissively.” Frequently some managers treat those with dissenting voices as reprobates.” Then acrimoniously, they sought ways to “...provoke feelings, often that had potential for wrath. Then, by agitation, they frustrate efforts of the competent; ...discriminate against those with noble intentions; ...terminate and/or decapitate them.” These, nonetheless, were all part of the life’s vicious cycle.
DESTINATION TO DEATHIt was the experience that those who, by virtue of their violent criminal exploits, knew that they were “...Destined to Die.” Most in Law enforcement also know that in spite of the advent of “...sophisticated weaponry for effective utilization, situations dictate that they may avail themselves of employing “...Tactics” other than those dictated by conventional wisdom.” Notwithstanding, mankind may suffer nothing comparable to that experienced by “...Jesus Christ.” Certain behavioral traits, however, nurtured in environments that officers have often seen as “...hate, discrimination and/or victimization.” These were endemic in “...systems and/or organizations” where ethnicity and origin, had often fuelled frictions. In such environment, where administrative perceptibility was lacking, that which is to go wrong, will go wrong.
HELL BREAKS LOOSEFrom an organizational perspective, good human relations were to be supported by sincerity and a desire in showing “...empathy as opposed to apathy.” Such were known to have “...inspired passionate human feelings, belongingness and inclusiveness” within its structure. Like other managers, these have always been related functions of Law enforcement administrators. Ignore these and all “...Hell Breaks Loose.” Frequently, most were more pre-occupied with “...egoism, environmental and/or extraneous matters, and responding only to public sentimentality and were vulnerable to “...expeditious docility.” However, it was lack of “...recognition, consideration and/or appreciation” that were known to have forced many into “...barbarism.” Such has been the unmistakable nature and responses of humans. Whatever were the underlying causes, this may easily speak to the recent behavioral display of Christopher Jordan Dorner ex-US Navy Reservist and “...former member of the Los Angeles Police Department” (LAPD) [June 4, 1979-February 12, 2013].
NOTORIETY OR INFAMYFollowing the brevity of Jesus Christ’s earthly sojournment, the name “...CHRIST” had been edited by mankind, in providing the seasonal name of “...Christmas, celebrated yearly by the Christian community on December 25. Secondly, people have used it for “...extending Christian and Surnames.” Many parents have used the shortened version in calling their sons and/or daughters “...Chris.” Others added “...suffixes” in extending names to “...Chrissie; ...Christie; ...Christine; ...Christobel and Christopher.” With no evidence of “...behavioral influences,” many bearing these names had either gained “...Notoriety” in advancing the causes and existence of humanity or “...Infamy” in perpetrating “...terror and horror, inflicting “...pain of punishment, destruction and death” to the innocent.
LEGENDSIn the case of legends, research showed that Italian adventurer-Maritime explorer, navigator and colonizer “...Christopher Columbus [1451-1506], reportedly landed on the Caribbean Island of “...ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA IN 1493.”Within the environs of its capital, there is a chain of supermarkets, with moderately priced food items called “CHRISTO’S. Then there is Canadian and internationally acclaimed actor “...Christopher Plummer, known for his awe-inspiring movies- “...Sound of Music” [December 13, 1929-]; ...Christopher Lee for his horrific “...Dracular movies” [May 27, 1922-]; ...Christopher Reeve for his Superman flying exploits in averting tragedy [Sept.25, 1952-Oct 10, 2004] and ...Christopher Walken, a renowned American actor in Shakespeare’s “...Romeo and Juliet” [March 31, 1943-].
CHRISTOPHER COKE’S TRIUMPHS/DEFEATSThen came an infamous youthful Jamaican drug dealer, “...Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke [March 13, 1969-], former “...Shower Posse’ leader. A renowned, self-styled, influential, compassionate and generous “...Tivoli Gardens Community Don,” aided by “...brutal gangsterism,” he was supreme ruler of the Gardens. With a prayerful facilitating evangelical priest, Reverend Al Miller at his side, ‘Dudus’ had successfully eluded Law enforcement as he was being sought for extradition “...to answer charges of “...Racketeering,” slapped against him by US authorities while in absentia.” Before running out of the Reverend’s “...Elusive Prayers; ...good luck and ...hiding places,” an intensely ferocious gun battle erupted in the garrisoned Tivoli Gardens community. The battle, calculated to thwart Law enforcement efforts in apprehending the infamous Dudus. When it was all over, it left a “...bloody trail of death and destruction, with 76 people of “...innocence and/or culpability” killed with scores reportedly “...wounded or missing” [Jamaica Observer May 24, 2010]. He had won “...American Acclamation” as being one of the most “...Dangerous Drug Dealers and Gun Runners.” He was incarcerated in a US penitentiary for 23 years.
CHRIS DORNER’S-TRIALS/ TRIBULATIONSSuddenly becoming “...America’s Most Hunted,” Christopher Jordan Dorner [June 4, 1979-Feb. 12, 2013], with pent-up emotions, he became violent and deadly. He had turned into a self-styled “...Cold-blooded Cop killer” that had overshadowed his achievements .There may have been little or no question as to his intelligence, skill or ability. Academically, research showed that he had obtained a University Degree in “...Political Science.” Seemingly, he opted for enlistment in the Los Angeles Police Department in 2005. Acquitting himself exceedingly well he seemingly had a colourful and rewarding tenure. He achieved several awards for either “...Meritorious Service and/or performance of exceptionally high standard.” He not only boasted a stature, but physically, a physique that most “...skinny guys” may have envied. Outwardly, he had charisma and a personality that appeared as pleasing as his captivating smile. It suggested that of a “...person at peace with himself and community.” His secular world crumbled when an official Disciplinary Tribunal terminated his services for allegedly “...Stating a Falsehood.” Lost appeal and subsequently, Court challenge [September, 2008]. From his “...social media ranting,” it was clear that he was unhappy with his treatment and obviously had “...personal issues and an official score to settle.” Vowing “...unconventional and asymmetrical settlement,” he had embarked upon “...Justice of the Jungle” that had precipitated his fiery demise.
DEADLY ESCAPADEIn most formal or informal organizations-political, social, non-governmental and/or criminal, “...Core Values” shall at all material times be observed, so too were its “...Culture” to be respected, preserved and protected. The latter had often brought consequences to non-conformists. Though Chief Charlie Beck had accorded Christopher Dorner’s “...Declaration of Intent,” no “...Credence,” psychologically, deep within his heart, he knew that he had problems of containment. Until the fateful final hours, and except how to neutralize him, LAPD Chief Beck knew not of his whereabouts or next targets. Though he was not required to face that which Dorner had vowed to deliver to those within his “...sight and reach,” he had, nonetheless, taken every preventive or precautionary measure, necessary in minimizing Dorner’s threats and the imminent danger to officers subordinate to him. Commendably, augmenting and utilizing all available resources with solicitation of inter-agency cooperation, there were “...clear objectives and steely resolve in ending Chris Dorner’s Deadly Escapade.”
DO’S AND DON’TS The victim of a “...fiery death and Villain of multiple horrible gun crimes,” was said to have been highly trained in Law enforcement, “...to discharge duty, obligingly, responsibly and with civility.” Militarily, he was trained to “...Kill the Enemy.” Seemingly driven by uncontrolled circumstances, he had become a “...Selective killer.” Extreme fear had gripped all a sundry. In spite of the selectivity, it brought no comfort to timid hearts in Cabin residency. For all intents and purposes, known or unknown, Chris Dorner had aught against the men and women he had partnered in fighting crime. As in the “...SENATE” and Law enforcement agencies, there had never been room for “...Boy Scouting or Girl Guiding.” Hence, he may have been confused about the “...Do’s and Don’ts.” He had used social media in communicating that which he had considered vexing and/or objectionable. The LAPD had seen eight innocent people cold-bloodedly “...fatally wounded or seriously injured.” Among the dead were two Law enforcement officers and two civilians. Medical Surgeons assiduously and in consort performed surgical procedures after procedures in a bid to saving the lives of the injured.
APPREHENSION OR ELIMINATIONConsidering who they were up against, LAPD officials, no doubt, may have felt the pulse of affected communities. Like two evils, there were only two options,”...Apprehension or Elimination.” The better one was usually the most effective. Law enforcement knew that it was both “...time and cost effective-less time and less resources.” Accordingly, employing the appropriate strategies at the “...right psychological moment” [PM Spencer], officials sought to bring respite to “...the innocent; ...the terrified; ...the hapless and ...the defenceless people.” Whichever way it may have been viewed by the people in affected communities, the latter may have been seen as the “...Lesser of the two evils.” Conversely, US Law enforcement officials and Fire Marshalls, considering “...Public interest and Safety,” with reasonability, the outcome may have been considered the “...Better of the two options-“...Elimination.” Philosophically, though not necessarily justifiable, in the instant case, it may still be reasonably argued that it was always better in allowing “...one criminal to perish,” than a community to suffer at the hands of Villains.”
DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES/RACISMChristopher Dorner had advanced reasons for running amok to an age-old employment practice of “...Unfair Dismissal,” asserting, true or false, “...Systemic Discriminatory and/or practices of Corruption.” Despite reasonable progress made since the early 1960’s; ...sacrifices made by Civil Rights advocates across the globe by the “...Nelson Mandela’s and Martin Luther King Jr., he alleged that the system was still rife with the “...objectionable societal malady of “...Ethnicity Racism,” perpetrated by bigots. If there were doubts to his assertions, real or imaginary, they may have been cleared up when “...Incendiary Gas canisters were fired at the “...wooden cabin” in which, like an American Tiger, he was “...inescapably caged.” Law enforcement culture and tactics and a dire need to ensure public safety and maintaining public confidence dictate that desperate criminals necessitated desperate measures. When the Cannisters were introduced into the operations, his fate was sealed.
