Antigua St John's - OECS Director General Dr Len Ishmael met yesterday with a team headed by Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, to get a sense of how citizens of the sub-region feel about the OECS Economic Union.
Also at the meeting were Finance and Economy Minister Harold Lovell, chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on OECS Economic Union; Speaker of the House of Representatives D Giselle Isaac-Arrindell; Ambassadors Colin Murdoch and Anthony Liverpool; Solicitor General Lebrecht Hesse and technicians from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce.
The director general highlighted the importance of public education and dialogue on the economic union, and committed the Secretariat to providing support to member states in educating the public about the benefits to be derived from such an arrangement.
Thursday’s meeting also discussed the inaugural session of the OECS Regional Assembly, scheduled for June 15 in Antigua & Barbuda.
The Assembly will comprise elected members of government and opposition from the OECS Protocol States. It forms part of the new institutional architecture established under the Revised Treaty of Basseterre establishing the OECS Economic Union.
Throughout the year, the director general and her senior technicians will be visiting the OECS Member States to meet with both government and opposition and parties, and public and private sector stakeholders, to implement a communication strategy for the OECS economic union.

Help!
Thanks for coming to Antigua...pleas e tell PM BS and his sidekick David Shoul to explain the millions of dollars wasted on old generators?
If you do this we'll be deeply indebted to you and the OECS!
Otherwise it'll just be another foolish photo op!
