Election Petition Hearings Resume - Day 2

16:05 Douglas Mendez is now responding to the arguments of James Guthrie  and Anthony Astaphan in the Justice Blenman appeal.

Discussions between the legal counsels and judges centre on costs as the matter seems to be coming to an end.

14:55 The Justice Blenman case has resumed in the High Court of Justice.

David Guthrie has just about finished presenting on behalf of the opposition ALP.

Anthony Astaphan QC is about to make his oral presentation.

13:00 David Guthrie is yet to complete his legal arguments in the Justice Blenman appeal.

He will, however, have to continue this afternoon, following the judges' deciding to take a break for about an hour.

Guthrie's arguments were based on the time period allowed for polling, which the UPP had said allowed for some discretion by election officers as far as allowing persons to vote.

Proceedings in the election petition hearing have resumed at the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal.

The sitting did not run as long as anticipated last evening, ending some time after 6.

The lead attorney for the ALP is presenting his counter arguments on several points of law raised by the UPP side, the appellants.

James Guthrie QC is arguing the issues raised in law, as it relates to the cut-off point for voting.

Where is the logics of the UPP?
written by Thinking, July 02, 2010
If the elections are not fair they are not fair, if they are unfair they are not free. Therefore, the issue is not numbers of vote but whether the law was breached and what corrective actions should be taken. Both the government and the High Court Judge agreed that the law was breached. The Government went further by asking the GG to act on unfair execution. The UPP is also saying that they won on a false electoral list and that the EC was inept. If every thing went that wrong then why not right the wrong. Lord help us!!!!!

Did the situation at those three polling stations affected the red shirts anymore than the blue shirts?. Why waste money and time on issues that make no sense?. It's like having a horse race, they are all lined up at the gate and the gate was opened late they are all late yet only one (anyone) could win.

deep throat you are wrong. In effect that is the criteria the judge used and her correct calculation (using the registered voters subtracting those who voted) is in opposition to yours.

I said to my wife "Woman I am going to make love to you like an Antiguan" she looked at me wondering what would happen.
I walked over to her, slapped her in the face, threw my dirty shirt at her and said "Woman cook me some chicken then wash my shirt while I go out and find me some sweet luvin".
When I got home my wife said its only fair if I respond like an Antiguan female "I;ve eaten all the chicken and gave your shirt to Bubba, he needed a new one after I ripped the other off his back when he gave me some sweet luvin.

Oh well now I know why Antiguan women are so large, and where all the chicken goes.

Just look at the numbers

How many people didnt get to vote? how many were not supposed to vote. Take all those folks and round them up. If they all voted for the loosing side they still would not have won. Duh!
