Freeland Dismisses Slanderous Statements

Antigua St. John's - Aspiring ALP representative for St George’s, Michael Freeland, has taken the high road regarding defamatory statements ostensibly made by supporters of rival Kelson Dalson.

The statements, printed on a single sheet of pink stationery, attacked Freeland’s employment status, his living arrangements, and his sexual preference, and called on constituents not to support him in his bid for office.

Contacted for a comment, the political aspirant would only say that he has nothing to report on the matter.

 “You could have done the flyer, or anyone could have done the flyer, so it’s a moot point to me,” Freeland told Caribarena. “I can’t take legal action, so it makes no sense to respond or react to this. It’s a dead issue.”

The flyer, which has been widely circulated, asks “Who is Michael Freeland?” and closes at the bottom with “Support Team Dalso”.

I man is a Ratsa man who has lived all my life in the St.George Constituency. Over the years we have had some flunkies who came and went as representatives , the latest to come is Jacqui Quinn Leandro and trust me she is gone this time. None has proven to be great representatives of our people in the constituency... .NONE. Well listen Michael; if you want my vote and any other Rastaman's vote you have to start sing our tune, from the same hymn sheet.....we want Ganja decriminalize. Unless you not talking our language we will remain foreign to you and when you come to visit us during your campaign, be prepared to smoke some herb so we can reason together. Dat ah the beginning ah true representation from Rastaman's point of view. The rest we can handle because we don't need your handouts because we have been doing well without them long time. Most of us are independent anyway and we never trust politicians.... .......I and I say nuff. respect

While we suffered under the hands of Jacquie... Isnt it strange that a year before the election that seems to be in favour of ALP that Freeland is suddenly interested in the needs of the people of St. Georges???

Freeland is nothing but an opportunists... Dean has been there for us through it all... No one should have the right to join the band wagon a year before election and be considered... we want your time, your energy and proper representation. .. You have not proven yourself Freeland...

Who cares at about his orientation? How would that affect his ability to represent. It is high time that people on the Island move away from that kind of politics. Move away from living a person's life. It could be such a hard thing living one's life, why add someone else's own. We must also stop judging. God is very good at his job, don't take it away from him.

All of these young cats who come from privilege backgrounds thinks that they are entitled to a seat at the table simply because of name recognition cats like freeland, bird 3, bird s. lionel hurst and marshall etc. because you have name recognition does not make you right to represent people.

Dean can be mean but he is clean. Dean Jonas all the way!!! Oh and tell Dalso stop making so much noise every morning. It irritates the hell out of the constituents men, women, and children alike. As for Freeland, do you start working in a constituency only when you want fast power on the basis of your "name"? How many of the new residents in your constituency knows who you really are? How many homes have you visited? How many stories from our households have you taken time to sit down to listen to? You can keep working, then try again in another five years but definitely NOT this time around - you a try capitalize on de family name and it na work. We a go smile wid yuh and then...vote against yuh. Straight!

Kelton Dalso is a total waste of time in everything he does. He is so small minded and incompetent that the real debate or a debate on the issues for that matter have not even started as yet and Michael is at such a higher level that he has to take jabs at the wind. It just shows that, that if he is the representative, in fighting for the cause of the constituency it would be in the form of cursing, name calling and a bunch of nonsensical hot air. He is truly a waste, a real waste of mind matter to consider him.
