I urge serious caution in considering the ALP at this point in time.

Their record in public office is enough to detour from them and they have not changed on bit.

For that I will cast my vote for the UPP

These two candidates are poles apart. Everytime Namba opens his mouth he substracts from his likely vote count. I guess his speech represents his capacity.
Its time that St. Paul's receives proper representation. ....go Chet!

You do not sound onesided to me. I believe in the individual right to what they express based on their own personal experience. I spend 4 months a year in ANU and brother, the last time was really an eye opener. Some people are back to cornmeal pap. One man told me his dinner was a can of sardines so I know what you are talking about. I often why do some want to serve in public office if not to help people. You do not sound one sided, you sound serious. There is no reason for poverty in Antigua. It would freak you out if you knew how much money down there.

@ skywill..yes i am saying?....Some Seed/or No Seed, using your term..why?.. in my view, if you have lived in Antigua and Barbuda for the past12 years...or there about in that time frame, some of that period would have fell under the ALP.....the last 2 and a half years under the ALP was not that great but persons was survivng with 2 and 3 jobs and could take care of there day to day buisness, the UPP came into power and destroy that,,,with lies and diception...and now people seeing through the lies....NOTE!! my coments may seems one sided...trust me a lot persons has similar view :-?

It is just this simple. Both candidates have dedicated their entire life to the community. Namba had his chance; a fair chance. But are the people satisfied? Did he represent based on the expectations when the people put him in office? I think the answer is NO. Therefore, with the performance odds stacking against him combined with his 'out of favor' party, plus the three candidates situation in the last election; it does not need a poll to predict what is likely to happen if its going be just just the two candidates this time.

Welcome to the conversation. You have a major point and the nex election is crucial. I would think it would be prudent to hold for now and look carfully at both sides but make a constructive effort to pick a side in the best interest of your country. They will give you the options, so weigh them. I don’t have no party, but maybe without you we get the worse of the 2 evils. Maybe it is you that will make the difference. Engage the politician and voice your thoughts. Let them know you have a higher standard, set the expectation we need you.

I am humbled by your kind words. Since you are listening: do not borrow or take nothing from certain people. Don’t tell lies and do not steal. Integrity is number one, service to others especially the elderly and the children and excellence when given an opportunity to serve and in everything you do. You will never be perfect but do your best. Observe in silence and listen twice as much as you talk. Understand that everyone is an individual different from you and everyone else. And remember, sometimes you have to stoop to conquer. Do not be bought for money at no price. When in need call on the name of God, he will be there for you. Study hard, make your people proud. Bless.

it's clear to see that the majority of person who reside here in Antigua or persons who understand Antigua politics and reside here in Antigua,it's clear to see the UPP goverment loose/lost the support they had in 2004/2009...i think in my view,2014 the UPP may lost if not all seats but most of the seats in parliament

Vote

#14 The Activist » 2013-02-04 12:38

In essence, this poll is asking to vote or poll one's intentions of whom they see fit to represent St.Pauls constituency; how about none on the two in question. We are being asked to choose the WORST of both Evils. It is amazing that since elections are upon us, how visible these two will be in the community that they want to represent ONLY in votes, NOT in true service to the people and country. Let us NOT be fooled, Garbage Input = Garbage Ouput. Look elsewhere !!

I wouldn't vote for either of them, one is a fool and the other one leaves a funny smell with everything he gets involved in, especially concerning x. I consider Mr Green to be of the ALP 'old school' variety and you all know what that means.

#9 SlyThatGuy » 2013-02-04 10:11

This kind of voting is a waste of time and energy because it doesn't tell the real story. There is no way to predict victory for any of these candidates in any of these constituency using this method. If,for example, the majority of people taking part in this poll now - and bear in mind they are no all from the same constituency - vote for Chet, come election, when the real voters from within a constituency cast their vote, the outcome could be quite different. True or not true?

Is this poll for real. These 2 clowns shouldn't be allowed to sit in the same company as level headed, clear & forward. thinking people much less hold public office. Is Chet the x, where da x gorne Greene you want me to vote for over Duncey bat Dr. I've forgotten ma lines, do nothing for the people of St. Paul Adams? No thank you, I'm good both the UPP & ALP need to go back into their bag & pull out suitable members for this area. NONE OF THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE VOTED FOR. PEOPLE OF ST PAUL'S STAY HOME AND DO NOT VOTE. Send a msg to Gaston Browne that no representation is better than these 2 clowns. We MUST do better & we MUST DEMAND BETTER.

#2 Real Observer » 2013-02-04 06:37

Except for the hatchet job done to Chet last election by Wigley George's funded presence in the St. Paul's constituency it is a forgone conclusion that the people of that area, like the rest of the country are ready for Chet to serve and represent in parliament.
With no distractions, the constituency and national preference will be obvious. Chet has proven over time that he is ready for office. His community representation and high level of debate in the senate are just two examples of his mettle.
He is light years ahead of Namba as a thinker, orator, organizer and as a people's person. St. Paul's and Antigua can be better with his elevation

#1 James » 2013-02-04 05:28

The only candidate who really cares for the constituence, is qualified and not afraid to stand up for what he believes in is Paul "Chet" Green! My vote and I encourage everyone's vote for someone with a future and who can help us the constituents! Vote for Chet, over the present non-performer and quite frankly clueless representative! Even Namba's own UPP Government does not respect him! I am voting for a change, I am voting ALP and Chet!
