#7 Bolans Villager » 2013-01-31 10:44

I have lived in Antigua all my life, growing up in Bolans. I am well aware that Brother B has become too comfortable in St.Mary's South!!! I hope Samatha wins her seat, and when she does I hope that she will bring change. I am aware that Brother B has done somethings but it is not enough. Not because you personally like someone means that you should be voting for this individual and they are not doing nothing for the community. High time for people to wise up. Its not about UPP or ALP, its about who will not just say they will do things, but actually do them! Young people we are the future, the older voters are stuck in their ways, wether it be UPP or ALP! We need to make a change for ourselfs! We ARE THE FUTURE!!!

I keep seeing polls showing the UPP with low 30% support. Yes the poll above shows BB with 29% but when you factor in Marshall's lead with overseas voters, it bring the UPP candidate in the lower 30 percentile. However, no one should put trust in the notion of the ALP winning by some 30 percent more than the UPP candidate, in a head to head contest, especially in this constituency. It won't even happen nationally. The UPP voters in general are simply currently turned off and more will show up when the gong sounds. Their public relations will probably argue that they tend to be late for parties, but on arrival, party all night long. However, when they arrive they may just find the doors closed.

#4 We Living in Da Past » 2013-01-31 09:18

The people of St. Marys South is time to wise up and get smart. We have been living in the past for too long now, and have been vindictive to others who is trying to represent us rather than Mr. hilson. This guy has been representing us for too long now, and hasnt done much. First of all let me make something very clear. " I AM NOT AN ALP; I AM NOT AN UPP, I am just someone who wants nothing but the best for everyone. Mr Hilson has been taking us for fool for too long. I have even heard this guy said out of his mouth that he doesnt have to campaign because he is 100% sure that the people of St. Marys will NEVER allow the ALP to win in his area, no matter what. He had even called the people of Urlings. See, this the problem with us in society today. We allow poloticians to get complacent, then blame others for what has gone wrong. I have gone to his office a few times, and he doesnt even seem to have anything in place for the future development. Also, the roads in Urlings hasnt been fixed from since the 90's. Now because next year is election, he has gotten something to grade off the roads. Trust me he isnt going to go any further than that. We seriously need a change.

It is time for fresh meat, i do hope some of our politicians choose no pay for a few months. Referring to New and old ones, they already make a lot of money in their businesses, law office, restaurants, hotel, property development etcetera.
