Antigua St John's - The Antigua Labour Party (ALP) has stated its dissatisfaction with what it terms is “the blatant abuse of government resources for spreading propaganda of the United Progressive Party (UPP)”.
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 6, the opposition party’s bone of contention is purportedly an email of Tuesday June 5 from a government email address that widely distributed a UPP statement on UPP letterhead paper.
The release quoted the contents of the email thus: “Dear Folks, Please find attached a Press Statement from the United Progressive Party of Antigua and Barbuda”, that was signed by Maurice F. Merchant, and gave his position as “Director-General of Communications & Chairperson, Prime Minister Scholarship Committee, Office of the Prime Minister, Queen Elizabeth Highway, St. John's, Antigua”.
“The telephone contacts given in the email are government numbers and the UPP statement was sent from email address:

, an official government email,” the ALP release said.
The ALP also takes umbrage with what it claims is the sitting government’s control of the state-owned ABS Radio and Television station which has refused access to the ALP and its representatives, and is used entirely for promoting the UPP.

They ain't seen nothing yet
First thing is the way they use the official government website ... they have it as a UPP media site instead of an official government website.
Then they set up that "new media unit" ... just a way to pay people to get their UPP message out their and to record and video thier UPP functions.
They are using government resources (people & equipment) to help their own websites and social media sites which are up and running long before the ALP.
And we didn't even get into election season yet ... so the ALP nuh see nuttin yet!!!
