Well-known Antiguan businessman Cecil Wade lost his brother by way of drowning on Friday. The body of George Wade was pulled from Seaton’s Harbour after family members became worried that he had not returned from a leisurely swim.
Cecil Wade, according to reports, led the search and made the unfortunate discovery sometime around 10:30 am.
The drowning victim, said to be 75, was in Antigua on vacation, having only arrived last Wednesday.
According to the police, George Wade mostly resides in the US, but visits frequently and stays at his brother’s beachfront property.
The police told Caribarena.com the body was discovered in about three to four feet of water. They were not able to explain the circumstances that led to his death. A post mortem will be carried out.
George Wade was pronounced dead by Dr Sabharmathi, the district doctor for the area.
