Youth Charged With Buggery

Charged With BuggeryAntigua St John's - A 16 year old is on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison on a charge of committing buggery on a nine-year-old girl. Informed sources said the victim, a primary School student, said she was lured by the accused to an abandoned house near the school, where the illicit act is alleged to have taken place about a week ago.

The victim reported the incident to her parents, who called the police. Further investigations led to the teen being arrested and charged.

The young man, who no longer attends school, was brought before a magistrate this week to be formally charged. He was remanded to prison.

Sources have said the accused may apply to the High Court for bail.

Meanwhile, in other news, a third person an employee of Food Fantasy has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at the supermarket earlier this month.

Sources have told Caribarena.com that the woman is in police custody on a charge of perverting the cause of justice.

My only problem is that I have absolutely no idea what the problem is - "buzzbomb" may wish to indicate exactly what it is I said that offends him.

Sure, the law says you're a minor until you reach the age of 18 but I just cannot place a 9 year old and a 16 year old in the same age bracket... This IMO was not sex with a minor by a minor, this was RxxE of an innocent LITTLE GIRL by a 16 year old. 16, 18 same ting!

Are you guys nuts? He xxxx a 9 year old and you want to counsel him.
This guy is no boy scout and this is probably not the first person he xxxed or would it be the last. We just tried a 17 year old for murdering 3 people but he actually killed 5. Don't you see that we have a very serious problem. There was 16 year who murdered a nine year old, and a teenager waiting to be tried for killing another teenager. This xxxist must be tried as an Adult and given the maximum sentence if found guilty.

The misguided sentiment expressed here is what got us into this mess in the first place. We have allowed one political family, the ALP and the UPP to exploit the system and turn Antigua into a virtual criminal fiefdom.

He needs help, but I agree with the judge that he should be out of circulation in free society until we understand more.

Antigua needs to get rid of the ** Cort, and the idiot Attorney General. Get someone as effective as Rudy Giuliani was in fighting serious crime. Import a professional police force and disband the waste of time "girl scouts" that call themselves the Defense Force. Build up the the COAST GUARD. Turn it into a "Drug" fighting machine.

Spencer ran and spend millions to rename our only mountain. The least Obama can now do for us is to loan us one of the CIA drones to combat the ever-growing armada of drug-laden, vessels from Latin American. Once you start sinking them. You will see how quickly they will close up shop. It is also in Obama's interest since most of this drug is tranship to the US.

I'm a blogger on many sites and I am not pleased with your live feed from a ** who wants to make excuses for child abuse.
You've got two choices here.
You either instruct Colin Samson to stop his inept editorializing of my comments or you can ban me from posting. What's it going to be?
Let me know, because I heard what he said today and as far as I am concerned he's a dolt and should not be representing you in this international forum.

Reconstructive measures would be a good start to assist both parties involved in this hideous act.....both parties will likely be affected negatively and will need counselling, therapy and non judgemental societal interaction that will not be easy. please keep in mind that our children feed off us the adults and display their behaviours amongst other as they act out our lives and actions that have been conditioned and learned.

I hope that this will act as an eye opener to see that we need desperate measures to keep young people on the path of good self esteem and constructive thinking.

it is a little innocent girl, practically a baby. I feel for her and i pray she will get over this. However, you are right, this is outright wrong but because it is outright wrong we should not get to the root of this and apply the APPROPRIATE ACTIONS, emphasis on "appropriate action" to rehabilitate the baby little girl (9 year old) and rehabilitate and or help and or punish the 16 year old youth/juvenile/child?

We as human, we alway look down on path. Buzzbomd if i do something i beg you to look deep into the core before you sentence me, i beg you as a nobody to you a somebody. I beseech thee, i humbly ask this of you and i humbly as all humans please.

@ LIONMAN, I love you heart and your professionalism on this peace. my heart goes out for the young lady and i will decide upon the young man upon careful consideration, evidence, interview and evaluation.

Unfortunate

#10 Lionman » 2011-10-24 11:47

To have this young man spend 15 yrs in prison with harden criminals is no way of helping him become a productive citizen and changing. These judicial officials need to know how to charge this man. He commited sexual assault on a minor and statutory rape not buggery. They really need to consider how much of a menace to society this young man will turn out to be if they have him spend 15 yrs in prison. Rehabilitation is neeeded.

Unfortunate

#9 Lionman » 2011-10-24 11:43

Speaking from a social worker persepective the young lady does need therapy but this young man also needs help. Antigua need to have a juvenile institution to rehabilitate these young man, by sending them into a prison with grown harden criminals does not solve the situation he is still a juvenile. Also I wonder if he has ever been sexually abused to carry on this act with a minor. All of these play a role rather than turning our backs on this youth man. This young lady is scared for life and she does need extensive therapy also the family will need therapy to assist in moving on with this crisis. I hope they all can acquire some counseling rather than letting it linger because if it does linger she will more than likely become premiscious and have lack of self-esteem from this traumatic ordeal. I pray for this young lady just as well as the young man.

I may be going off the topic with this statement but we as a society need to check ourselves and stop trying to run behind the wesnternize ways and regain our culture, heritage, and history. Many of illsin our society is because people want to be like Westerners. Its time to wake up before it gets worse. One Luv.

I understand what you are trying to say but this was not a young lady, this was a 9 year old child.
And don't get me going on the establishment protected, denial and organized defense of cocooned preists who have been doing to alter boys for generations.
This is downright wrong and if you are a parent, you should know.

The young lady

#7 my way of helping » 2011-10-24 11:12

Now comes the young lady, I need her to start therapy immediately, let her know it was not her fault because she went in their because the boy was offering her something. When she gets older, she may think it is her fault for loving things, because she will blame herself and say she was lured in because she wanted a material thing what ever it was.

Let her know all humans at one time of their life wanted things and could have been fooled also. Let her know she is not alone, start to explain the purpose of sex and that she should wait for a husband, let her know not all men are the same (this will prevent her from hating all men and being gay).

The judge (Antigua's criminal justice system) may have just ruined two juveniles' live. I have so much disappointment from this country and the people. The disappointment will continue thou, we are just Antiguans and will never be anything more until we want to be something more.

I do not know him

#6 my way of helping » 2011-10-24 11:05

Life is no longer only about right or wrong; it now has to do with intent, competence etcetera. Our Judiciary is the oldest and I can see why we antiguans (caribbeans) are so eager to condemn and curse out.

One of my criminologist professors did what i just explained, when juveniles are sent to court (charge with a crime) they see him and he develops a profile (understanding) of them and their behaviour to come to an early understanding of intent (motive) and whether they need emotional and psychological help, instead of just outright punishment.

The more I read about Antigua and Barbuda is the more I want to stay away from the people and just help from a distance, these people, we would kill you and persecute you in a second. Can no judge or person use deligence, discretion, and be innovative?

I am now offering myself to be a judge or adjudicator for juvenile matters in this United Islands. Oh, I do not know the young man but I know the type of behaviour.

This young man have issues and i can bet he lives in a smal home, with a mother, may not his biological father but perhaps see different guys come to his mother or perhaps witness his mother with a guy who is not his father.

Biologically, he started having sexual feelings and he does not know what to do with the feelings. He is 16 years old, might be a bit innocent other than hearing about it with peers, watching it in movies, on-line and in books.

I am sorry about the innocent young lady and she need counseling because this action could have drastic repercussion in her life in the future; emotional, psychological, etcetera.

Now comes the young man, from this day fourth, our judiciary should have a criminologist or p** or p** as his assistant because this young man should have been interviewed by one of those specialist before a decision is made on whether he awaits his trial in jail, a mental facility or home with his parents.

A 9 year old child?

#2 Buzzbomb » 2011-10-24 08:31

This makes angry and a little sick to my stomach.
There is a part of me that believes a 16 year old boy is not best served for his illness by being locked up in our prison, but there is a larger part of me that doesn't give a damn.
He needs to be taken out of our society now, and I don't really care how.

Sex with a minor by a minor..

#1 Nemo » 2011-10-24 07:15

While this may be buggery, the real OFFENCE is sex with a minor, by a minor, who if an adult would be looking at 15 years inside!

Still....
