A 65-year-old Clarks Hill man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving on New Year's Day. William Stewart has since been granted $25,000 bail in the court, with $10,000 and two sureties required.
This followed the discovery of an elderly man's body at the side of Herberts Road on January 1. The accused was reported to have left the scene, and later turned himself in to the police.
Meanwhile, a post mortem on the body of 56-year-old Glenford Nathaniel Martin, of Upper Fort Road, found that he died due to cerebral injuries and a fracture of the skull.
He died on January 17 following a traffic accident at the corner of Factory and American Roads.
A 42-year-old woman from Piggotts, meanwhile, was charged with the unlawful possession of 103 g of cannabis on January 29 at 9 am in Piggotts.
