Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash

CrashA second road fatality has been reported, this time a motorcycle rider Ryan Perreira who lost control at the corner of Simone Boulevard Main Road and Fitzroy Road on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Guyanese man had reportedly been heading west at high speed on the multi-coloured motorbike, and ran into a utility pole on the western side of the road at about 8:30 pm.

He sustained multiple injuries to his body, and was taken to the hospital, but succumbed about an hour later. There were no registration plates on the motorcycle. The crash happened near the Good Shepherd Anglican Church.

In other reports from the police, a 37-year-old man from Potters New Extension was arrested and charged for fraud.

He is alleged to have obtained $67,000 from a Lightfoot resident by larceny and false pretense sometime between January 27, 2009, and July 30, 2009 at Herberts.

The police are also investigating a report of larceny at a dental clinic on Deanery Lane, where it is reported that someone stole a water pump. A filter, and a white Polar Air compressor were also taken sometime between 4:30 pm on January 5 and 10 am on January 6.

Carvasa, i agree with you, the presence of uniform police on patrol makes a difference. I have notice that Vivi richards street in Ovals has had several robberies, the police should then put police in that area both undercover and uniform to make a differance. my way of thinking, if in fact you did send your plan, then you should say so and call then out for not implementing any of them. But let us know. Antigua needs every bit of help they can get. My plan was to retire in Antigua but that is changing rapidly, and its mainly because of crime.

police

The plan is to put more police in vehicle or on motor bikes and have them do more patrolling. Unless we Antiguan's don't respect the police there is no way i can see a police vehicle on the same stretch of road with me and do the kind of driving we do here. Ticketing should be one of the biggest money maker in revenue in Antigua.
I drive in the USA and any time you see a police car in front of you, beside you, behind you or even heading towards you on the other side, knowing the weight of a ticket and out of respect you promptly check your speed and driving. With an island of this size one should be able to run into a cop at every corner.

do you know, I spent over $3000 faxing, emailing and posting to ALL the minister , GG and some ALP too. Ask brother B i spoke to him and he gave me the number and i faxed it $117 at fedex kinko (i paid) a lot of pages. then ask the governor general, then ask Gaston Browne actually he was the only one to thank me and say we want to use you as an adviser. I promise you, i emailed, faxed, call from america, run up my phone bill over seas line, I did not use a phone card. I faxed, emailed, called, post, texted, my next idea is to tie it around a pigeon and have it flown there.

My parents and uncle was a bit upset, i used my college funds to do this, but after the increase in crime in Antigua and Barbuda, i had to help and sacrifice myself. verify from any minister oh i forgot, i sent it to all the news paper too, observer, antiguasun (at the time), andy liburd, all the police stations that had fax machine and the email address that i know. I gave it to the canadian officers all of them. i can go on if you like, i think the entire country has them because i did it with all my research papers.

YOUR WAY OF HELPING

#6 SIRIER48 » 2011-01-08 12:42

My way of helping, you have been whiting for the longest time about (YOUR PLAN) are you a dedicated Antiguan or not? If you have such a great plan, why wait for the government to ask you. Why not just reveal your plan to the appropriate MP by mail,e-mal, text what ever. If you who know how to stop them and do nothing, you are equally as guilty as the criminals themselves.

unelected representative for rural east believe that the people are ungrateful so he refuse to do anything in the area. The roads in that village is not drivable for even a SUV. once u get over one pot hole another 2 immediately greets you. politics is now causing people lives. December 2008 saw Johnson's village road done in days leading up to the opening of the playing field. just before elections some of the pot hole were sloppily filled in. that village need help

Again, my plan is available to help my people of the United Islands of Antigua and Barbuda. I know it is not millions of dollars but it can save and make millions of dollars, my crime reduction plan.
