Joint Security Meeting Monday

Dr Errol CortMinister of National Security & Labour Dr Errol Cort is expected to hold a joint security meeting on Monday with the top brass of the Royal Police Force and the Defence Force.

The UPP senator had praise for the current crime fighting strategies which he said have been reaping positive results, as reflected in the general reduction of crime during 2010.

According to a release, "He said this was made possible through the collaborative efforts of both the Defence Force and the Police Force.

Notwithstanding these successes, Minister Cort says it is necessary to keep these strategies under constant review and to improve upon them wherever and whenever necessary."

Monday’s joint meeting is being held to review the joint existing strategies embarked upon by the Ministry of National Security and the relevant security forces. During the meeting, the minister is expected to discuss and unveil additional crime fighting measures to be introduced.

The media will be briefed following the discussions.

What happened to the Caricom Regional consultation series on Crime Reduction that included Antigua? Did Antigua and Barbuda law enforcement authorities boycott the series.
Whey is there a news black-out on this most important regional effort to address crime among us.?
Who is asleep at the switch here?
Is it because you are still making money from crime?
We know the newspaper says they sell more papers when the place sensational headlines especially about crime on the frontpage. They may benefit, but in the long rum they will be also be on the loosing end.

Isnt the Coast Guard apart of the ABDF? i find it rather interesting that a number of readers over time in this and several other media outlets keep referring to it as a independent body. Is it a sign of things to come?
