Student Stabbed In The Ear

A 17-year-old student was hospitalized Tuesday after reportedly being attacked by four other young men at the Antigua and Barbuda Institute for Continuing Education (ABICE) at Gunthorpes. He faces long term medical issues as a result.

No names have been released, since all except one of those involved are minors. But the police did confirm that the four have been questioned in the presence of their parents.

Reports indicate that the incident happened just after classes ended at 1:30 pm. The victim was reportedly stabbed in the ear with an Afro pick. Two of the wire teeth punctured his ear, and may have caused damage to his brain.

The student was rushed to the Mt St John's Medical Centre, where he underwent emergency surgery. He has since been discharged.
