Double-Murder Suspect in US Custody

Double-Murder Suspect in US CustodyAntigua St. John's - National Security Minister Hon. Dr. Errol Cort has announced that double-murder suspect Kenroy Marshall is currently in police custody in the United States awaiting extradition to Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking at a security press conference on Thursday the Minister confirmed that Marshall had been detained in the US city of Philadelphia shortly after his arrival.

Dr. Cort said Marshall was able to “somehow” leave Antigua –by boat to Guadeloupe, where he boarded a commercial flight to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“He was shortly thereafter arrested by US authorities and has been in US custody ever since,” the Minister said, adding that he could not say if the detention was in connection with anything other than the man’s wanted status in Antigua.

Further, Dr. Cort noted that “appropriate” arrangements have now been made for Marshall’s return and to Antigua at which time police will take the matter forward.

“I will not indicate precisely when Mr. Marshal is to be returned to Antigua because of national security reasons. The matter will be handled far differently on his return this time,” Dr. Cort said.

He thanked local security officials for their continued commitment and assured all that due process will be carried out.

On Thursday acting Commissioner of Police Henry Christian had declined to comment directly on the matter on the grounds that “nothing official” had yet been said.

Marshall escaped police custody on two separate occasions in December 2012.

He is a suspect in the gruesome execution-style murder of Dominican nationals Alwin Robin and Alex Riviere, which occurred in October 2012, at a residence on Tristan Alley in Cedar Valley, St. John’s Antigua.

Professor give me a break. You need to be consistent with your theories, every time the story changes your theory also change and all of your theories, assertions and rumours have been proven wrong on this story from day one. Sounds like you have axe to grind. Why then he did not go to Guadeloupe in the first place instead of Montserrat? Having gotten to Guadeloupe one would expect him to stay there { if you want us to acknowledge your theory} why would her leave a safe haven according to you and fly to the US where there is more Antiguans than Americans in Philadelphia? Professor just stop your Baloney.

Have the US acknowledge the all of their wrongs and put systems in place to do so? The answer to that is no too, so what is your point. How long have they been talking about reforms now? Some of the most hateful groups are right here in the US that we so appreciate and idolize. Depending on where you are and the color of your skin, they hate everything and anyone who is not white. Hatred is a human trait that transcends geographical, educational, social, financial, and even religious divides. Did you forget how blacks, Hispanics, and those of LBG community were treated in the last election? Despite all of this, it is still the USA.
Europe is not much different, I was stationed there for 7 years and the level of hatred for outsiders of every respective countries is no different from the US. Outsiders are criticized, demonized, hated just like in the US; yet they are still the EU.
They all need to work on their short comings, not just the people in the C'bean. However, I say again, I don't hear that they should be dissolved.

Morris, every place will have issues but my debate here and my point here is are we acknowledging the wrong, have we put anything in place to handle these wrongs and issues? the answer as you know is NOPE. In fact, we just ignore the wrong and if it is pointed out, we call it judging, hypocrisy and putting down our own.

Until we accept the truth, we are not ready to go to the next step

A contract or documentation that was invalid from start will always be invalid, so, you can't call someone with fake documentation a doctor if they were never a doctor.

The other point you made is that the people were not aware of a fraud, However, we are aware that we are not ready and we are aware that we do not accept the truth, as if it is negative, we will deny and curse out each other. The caricom countries i know, is not ready. they are not ready now

Even though these states/countrie s have united to form a common union, they are still having their fair share of issues. Does that mean that they were not, and still are not, ready and should dissolve? There are states in the US talking about secession because of their displeasure with the way things are, but we all know that they will not be going anywhere any time soon.

I like how we always seem to criticize the gov't for not looking local before venturing outside to find a qualified person/entity; yet, many of us are stifling a local union (CARICOM) from taking root while enjoying the fruits/benefits of the foreign unions (US & Europe). Is this hypocrisy?

This is regarding your question to tenman. In your time practicing law, have you ever come across any case(s) in the US regarding doctors (professors, authors, etc. and many other professionals) whose licenses (works) have been revoked because of fake qualifications (plagiarism, etc.) after they've been in practice for quite some time? If you have not, there are many such cases that have been exposed in the news and in numerous law journals. The sad thing is that many of these very same doctors had a passion for the skill, lacked the necessary training, obtained fraudulent documents, and performed diagnoses, surgeries, and prescribed medications to unknowing patients. So, if a patient is uncertain of the doctors fraudulence he/she would allow the doctor to operate.
I do know that you question was sarcastically posed in reference to CARICOM, but I agree with tenman that we do need to stumble a few times before we start walking. If we continue to hold on to the hands of the British, how soon will we learn to walk on our own? The original 13 colonies fought some bloody wars before they became the USA, and so did Europe, but they put aside their differences to form a common union.

I wish to point out that I am not for one moment trying to silence criticism or the offering of a negative opinion. Far from it. It will defend to the death an individual's right to his/her opinion, even if i disagree with it. I'm just mystified when others laud the USA as a country in which the nonsense that so often happens here is virtually non-existent. There is so much evidence form their own news reports, commentators and documentaries to the contrary for ALL to see. This reality notwithstanding , If I have offended, then I offer my sincere apologies.

There is an organized crime syndicate operating in Antigua. A Frxxx Pirate with a yacht in English Harbour is the ring leadert. The two police offers that were charged with money laundering and Kenroy Marshall among his local xxxx. The laundering of Euros was getting difficult for the crew and they diversified into drugs from Colombia, managed by Venezuelans that bought Dominican passports (CIP).

The double murder was a drug deal gone bad at a house that belongs to the syndicate. What is being hidden is that the case of the policemen charged with money laundering and the double murder should be treated as a CONSPIRACY CASE, but that would implicate persons who deficate in "high g**."

That is why Kenroy Marshall seems to have devine protection or an obeah woman in Guadeloupe, which just happens to be a FRENCH country.

My Way of Helping- I recall it being said that its bad to prevent persons from being responsible. When you coddle them many will simply be irresponsible. Its akin to keeping a child, riding on training wheels. The worst you can do for mature persons is to prevent them from making their own mistakes. Europe, the US had their chance to make their mistakes. Its how they grew. It is long past time for us to exercise true independence in all spheres

Kenroy Marshall confirmed to be in US custody

#29 Observer 2 » 2013-02-15 13:02

Since Dr. Court is the lead investigator on this case, I hope that he will leave no stones unturned in his investigations. Mr. Lead investigator, can you tell us if you have already found out who purchased Mr. Marshall's ticket from Guadeloupe to the US? Did they pay cash, or credit card, or money order? I hope his ticket is not on the account for the Ministry of tourism? Which travel agency sold the ticket, was the ticket bought online, was it bought from the US or from Antigua? Did someone walk into a travel agency and bought the ticket? The vehicle that took him to meet the captain of the boat is the vehicle and the driver in police custody as yet? Have you Dr. Cort, Mr. Lead investigator picked up and interview the boat captain as yet? I would expect a full report and to see the necessary charges follow for all those who assisted in allowing an allege murderer to get out of town. Now that the true story is available Dr. Court you now need to publicly apologise to the two individuals "ex-cops" for misleading the entire nation to believe that they were involved in the murders.

Far better to merge the police with the ADBDF so that all incl coastguard is under one command. Retire the clown from the polce force and let Col Thomas install some disciplin and teeth into security!
Bring back Col Croft from Christian lap boy -where he is being wasted -and we have an effective force that the public will respect and thus co-operate.

I agree. The same people who complain that our laws are never enforced, and that personal or political relationships trump existing laws and protocols, and our institutions are corrupt and poorly run will tell you in the same breath that we are politically mature to have our own final court of appeal, or implement a regional free movement of labour policy.
Never mind the fact that we are unable as a nation to measure our unemployment rate, account for drugs missing under police supervision, pay in the civil servant wage SS and MB deductions, publish financial accounts in a timely manner (SS and MB included), implement a structured immigration policy, execute an eviction order for people squatting on public lands for over 20 years or apprehend a murder suspect who has traveled freely to some 3 countries.
What is their rational? As long as the participants in question "look like us" everything will turn out fine and dandy.

Merging the ABDF with the coast guard is a profoundly progressive idea. However don't hold your breath waiting on this merger to happen, it involves analysis, process re-engineering, drafting and passing new legislation, huge egos, protection of turf wars etc etc.
In addition to all this the initiative (and probably funding) for this project has to come from the US state department, the EU or World Bank since we can only react to directives from the first world and their institutions.

If Stanford had made it to Antigua he would still be here chilling. I believe they setup Stanford and kept the money he gave them to hold/hide. Did you ever wonder how the courts claim Stanford was broke, when you know very well he has tons of money, lands and assets? This case FISHey and that case FISHey. If that young man is truely in US custody, he will stand trial for illegal entry and can claim political asylum in that process he will have to state his case and testify in his defence or stay quite and be sent back to a place where he tried so hard to get away from. There is a policy of only poor people pay. The way the system is set up the big man ride the poor through taxing, he don't even get an APUA bill. Only Poor people picknee go to jail in Antigua no matter who did the crime. The US is going to hear his plea and it will be public information. I would love to do an exclusive interview with him to get his take on the story.

Firebug, one thing i can't stand about us, black people, as soon as you state a fact and the fact happen to be negative, we, as black people also say, people are judging us, people are spreading propaganda. When will we accept the negative facts that are true and just change.

The other day, i was enlightening and educating people on here to accept the fact that we are not prepared, even 10%, to handle Caricom if implemented fully or even a court of appeals in the Caricom and you know the black people, instead they accept the fact, it is a fact, even them complain about such issues but if said by others, they interpret it as someone bringing down their own people or judging someone, each other.

People who thinks like this should not be incharge of anything, let us accept our faults and make our-self better. It is a policy i practice, may be more of us need too.

From this day forth FIREBUG, when some one say something, pause for a second and ask yourself, is this statement true or false even thou it is a negative statement? then, if true, do not curse the person out but instead consider changing for the better. i will apply the same in my life

Why do commentators of these stories always refer to US law enforcement as being impossible to escape from, models of transparency, and the last word in legal and bureaucratic efficiency? On what statistics are they basing their opinions? C'mon, friends. There is inefficiency, corruption, and bungled law enforcement EVERYWHERE ON EARTH! While I will not seek to whitewash the government's efforts or even lack thereof, let us not resort to mindless regurgitation of what effectively amounts to propaganda being liberally dished out by Western developed nations like the United States. This is still OUR country. Let us seek to build rather than tear down.

He was able to get to Guadeloupe because of our porous waters. I have been proposing for a long time now that the ABDF be used as a maritime force. Perhaps he would have been caught by tis proposed maritime force and not even made it to Guadeloupe.

National security? Really Dr. Cort? What kind of impact does a murder suspect has on "national security" unless he is in some way connected to the gov't? Does he have information that could cause shockwaves in the gov't and bring down a few individuals?

For the minister's info, it is not that hard to get the return info he wishes to keep a secret.

Dr. Court is always looking for credit and loves to be in the spotlight when he thinks there is mileage for him personally. When Kenroy Marshall escaped police custody on two previous occasion and ones with Kuggus "Deamon" Martin not a drum was heard from Errol Cort. It took weeks of public out cry and pressure from caribarena and other media houses for Cort to set up an enquiry to determine how the men escaped. The Police Commissioner in Montserrat did their own investigation and have reported that they will not accept responsibility for the men escape. Not up to this moment have we heard a word from Dr. Cort commenting on what the Montserrat Police have said, neither have we heard anything about the investigation that was held locally. You see people there is no praise, credit or mileage in that so Mr. Cort stays far from the media on those issues but he is FRONT-OF-THE-ST AGE on this one. Let the Police who has been taking the stick from the public come forward with the info.

It is quite clear to me now that the police were instructed not to comment on this matter. Good Job Caribarena for bringing this story back on the front page.
Minutes after the Police said they have no knew information, the Minister of National Security calls a press conference and said " wait guys I actually have an update but I have not pass that info to the police as yet, but anyways I will tell you first then I will inform the police". " Mr. Marshall is indeed in custody in the US, we do not want to say when he will be back because of security reasons, but arrangements are in place for his return, he flew from Guadeloupe to Philadelphia and was apprehended there shortly after." Those are the facts guys so I will now call the acting commission and inform him, so you guys can give Mr. Burnette or Mr. Holder a call tomorrow". Dr. Cort give me a break. It has taken you too long to come forward with this information to us members of the Public, . By the way DR. Court why did the ONDCP went to the US to interview Marshall and not the Police?, since when the ONDCP investigates Murders? Or the ONDCP is now the real police force?
