Police Search for Missing Mother and Baby

Missing Mother and Baby Antigua St. John's - The Police are appealing to the general public for their assistance in finding the whereabouts of a 32 year old Potters mother and her son, who went missing on Monday.

Abiosa Jordan, a Guyanese national residing at Potters, and her 18 month old son Joshua Lawrence, were reported missing after she failed to appear for work on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, and calls to her cellular phone went unanswered. The police said their investigations led them to her home in Potters, and a set of keys was found at her front door.

Abiosa, who has been an employee at the Spencer’s Service Station located on Factory Road for the past two years, was last seen with her son walking in the vicinity of the Mount Joy Service station located at the junction of Jonas Road and the road leading to Willikies.

She is described to be approximately 5ft-5ins in height, of slim build with shoulder length hair.

The police are appealing to anyone knowing the whereabouts of Jordan and her baby to contact the CID at 462-3913 or 492-3914, her sister Wonita Natasha Simon at 722-0907, Crime Stoppers at 800-Tips (8477) or contact the nearest police station.

Nut Grove Stabbing

The police are investigating a report of wounding that left a 21 year old man of Nut Grove, nursing a stab wound to his back at the Mount St. Johns Medical Center.

It was reported that around 7:30pm on Wednesday a young man and a 15 year old student of the Ottos Comprehensive School got into a heated argument, while on Lower Ottos Basketball Court; and as a result the teen allegedly used a sharp object to inflict a stab wound to the young man’s back.

The EMS subsequently arrived on the scene and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors reported that the wound was not life threatening. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Cant understand what the negative thumbs are for, since seeing this photo, the very same thing crossed my mind.It may not be the police to be blamed, maybe who ever gave the description to the police are the ones who just did a bad job,or maybe its just the picture,But i cant see why anyone would give somebody a thumb down for speaking such a clear truth And yes,the news report on the radio said fair in complexion, some commentors seem to know her, maybe they can clear the air on this one.

This young lady is a very pleasant person; I pray for her safe return. Please people of Antigua & Barbuda let's just pray that all is well with her. Prayer changes things.

The picture that you have displayed at the top of the story does not match the discription that you present, so something is wrong.

I agree with you skyewill, this young lady is very pleasant- always apologized if I had to wait to be served and wished me "plansant day" after she had finished. I hope all is well with the baby and her.

Good job guys and good job to the folks at CA that is listening to it's readers. I read this article at 4 am my time and I knew who it was, I to wanted a picture but I was in fear that this would be my friend. When ever I am in ANU and she is walking I would give her a ride. This is a hard working young woman, very friendly and sensible. I hope she just simply left where she was living and is OK. I remembered when she had the baby, pray for her and the baby's safety.

This disturbing! Time for the Police to get serious! Where is the photo of the young lady? Isn't that the first thing you post?

In the mean time, Baldwin is away more often than he is here, can we also ask for persons to look out for him?

Why do the police send police reports to the media but don't send a photo. Both newspapers have the story but no picture. How can the public help? Why hasn't the family sent photos to the media too. Both family and police are wasting time.

Dear Caribarena,

We are always greatful for the updates, but it is NOT doing us any good if pictures are not been attached. What about if someone has passed or seen those missing persons some where. I have never seen a person that looked like a "MISIING SIGN BOARD" in the past.
