Antigua St. John's - Omarlie Henry appeared in the High Court of Justice before Chief Justice Keith Thom.
He previously pleaded guilty to the charge of wounding with intent.
The court heard that on April 26, 2006 the complainant, Prince Charming Graham, left his home at approximately 7pm to visit a friend. While walking east to west on Federation Road towards Cancer Palace he said he was approached by the defendant and he (the complainant) asked, “Ah wha you want, you want in something wid mi?”
The defendant continued walking towards him and upon catching up with him, held on to his shirt collar.
Graham reportedly pulled away, picked up a bottle and threw it at Henry.
Later on that said evening while he was leaving from Cancer Palace he said he again saw Henry; who picked up stone and threw it on him. The complainant said when he was attempting to run back to his friend’s place Henry held on to him and used a shine object to stab him several times.
While stabbing the victim, the accused man is alleged to have said, “Ah going to kill you.”
The knife attack continued until the complainant became unconscious; and woke up two days later in the Holberton Hospital.
Graham was stabbed three times in the centre of his stomach, once in his chest and upper back.
He underwent surgery and was discharged on May 1, 2006
The victim said he is still experiencing abdominal cramps; especially when he coughs.
