Suicide Scene Could Have Been Staged - Police

Suicide Scene Could Have Been Staged - Police Antigua St. John’s - While certain sections of the media have opted to run with the assumption that the death of 33-year-old Jemmo Shaw was a suicide, Police Spokesman Senior Sergeant William Holder said the force will not allow itself to be caught up in the immediate illusion of suicide.

“We treat everything that way because we don't know what happened,” Holder said.

Shaw’s body was found hanging from a tamarind tree along a deserted path in the Yeptons area about 1:20 pm on Wednesday. He had reportedly left his home in an unassumingly casual mode.

But the senior sergeant suggested that the scene could well have been “staged,” to generate the effect that floats in the public today.

“Understand that that is the procedure. That is why we are waiting on the autopsy and then we will give a conclusive statement.

“He could have been killed before and then carried there. Suppose the autopsy reveals that he was poisoned?” Holder said.

The lawman maintains that the force would not rule out foul play until proven an autopsy proves otherwise.

He said investigating officers are not only digging for clues at the scene but they are also looking into Shaw’s relations with his family members who are also being interviewed.

In the meantime, reports suggest that the 33-year-old man left his Golden Grove family home on Wednesday morning in his Toyota Corolla (A26766) motorcar to begin a new job at a construction site. He never made to the job location.

Family members are reported to have observed that he uncharacteristically grabbed a black nylon rope similar to what was found around his neck. It is alleged that it is the exact same piece of rope found at the scene.

A passerby who frequents the area discovered Shaw’s body.

You guys talk too damn much!! Nobody saw him put the rope into the car only loose it out. He's accustom to helping people with their vehicles so thats the only thought that came to their mind. Jemmo didn't even know he saw him. We never saw him as a suicidal person. @ Dave Were we suppose to read his mind and know that's what he was going to do?? He's not a person that take things on. Nobody expected him to do this. We are all still baffled and distraught and all we're seeing are these hurtful comments. If its one thing my mother (his aunt) taught me is if you cant say anything good don"t say anything at all!!

The police are right, as a former police officer you can't rule out nothing. why the family members are so quick to say they saw him took the rope? if someone is going to take they own life in most cases they will not give no indecation to no one.

Losing a job or being unemployed for long periods is one of the leading causes of suicide.
I remember hearing a story of an educated man who was obliged to work as a labourer in contruction being so despondent that he spit on his certifictes and turned to alcohol for solace.
Is this what the sunshine Government has brought us too? I have heared there are many depressed and even suicidal citizen holding on by a thread out there. Is our land cursed because of our evil like Sodom and Gommorah?
