Police Officer’s Home Firebombed

Police Officer’s Home Firebombed Antigua St. John's - Police are investigating an apparent arson attempt on the home of a police officer in Cashew Hill on Friday.

According to confirmed reports reaching Caribarena.com, the premises of officer Sean O'Neil, who is currently off island, was firebombed and the interior completely destroyed.

Police spokesman Senior Sergeant William Holder said that while there is some speculation regarding the possibility of a revenge attack on the officer’s home the investigations are at too young a stage to be sure.

“We can’t determine the motive at this time. Opinion is that it could be revenge but we can’t say definitively at this stage,” Holder said.

He confirmed reports of at least two individuals observed lurking in the vicinity of the officer’s home at the time of the incident. So far there have been no arrests.

“At this stage investigations are ongoing into the incident. We really can’t determine the motive. We know that two persons were seen in the area fleeing at the same time,” Holder said.
