Antigua St. John’s – Police on Thursday arrested and charged Corwayne Charles Campbell of Martin’s Village with attempted murder.
Campbell, a 32-year-old Jamaican national who is employed as a security officer, is accused of shooting one of his colleagues in the neck early Wednesday morning.
Police reports indicate that shortly before the incident, the two men were involved in an argument while they were at restaurant and bar in Dickenson Bay, and Campbell subsequently used a firearm to wound his co-worker.
The injured man, a resident of Sea View Farm, was rushed to the Mount St. John’s Center by the Emergency Medical Services, where doctors reported that his injuries were not life threatening.
He has since undergone surgery, and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police also arrested and charged a 41-year-old man from Pigotts Village with larceny, after he allegedly stole a white 2004 Nissan Almera motor car, valued at $34,782.

The Police and the Fire Department are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a vehicular fire which took place in St. John’s on Thursday night.
It was reported that the owner of a Nissan Sentra motor car A11452 was travelling from North to South on Corn Alley, in the vicinity of the Salvation Army Citadel when he observed smoke coming from the area of the car’s engine.
The Whenner Road man further reported that as he turned off the ignition and exited the vehicle it became engulfed with flames. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the process. No one was injured.
