Tourist Dies After Night Out

Police investigate Antigua St. John’s -- The police are investigating the sudden death of a British tourist who died under questionable circumstances hours after complaining of feeling unwell following a night out with his family.

The 48-year-old man, his wife and two children arrived in Antigua on August 3, for holiday at Jolly Harbour.

According to police spokesman Corporal Frankie Thomas, the man – Paul Edwards – took his family to dinner at the nearby Sugar Ridge last Saturday night, but after eating he started to complain of physical discomfort, including itchy skin.

Thomas said both Edwards and his family returned to their villa at Jolly Harbour. However, around 6 am on Sunday, he reportedly got out of bed to go to the bathroom when he collapsed and died soon after.

The police said the British High Commission has since been notified of the sudden death of Edwards, and he said a post-mortem examination is being planned to determine the cause of death.

Corporal Thomas said it is not known if Edwards had a previous health condition that may have contributed to his death.

Paul Edwards was a family friend, his son was a friend of my brothers. Deep condolences to his family at this time.

Really, Man?
Please stop and think and don't contribute if you have nothing to offer......

Why not wait for the autopsy results, and stop speculating about this & that

Condolences to the family.

Maybe not at Sugar Ridge

Mr. Edwards might have had something earlier in the day, that might have started its effect during the night. We will wait on the post mortem. They should have sought medical attention as soon as he started to feel unwell. A stitch in time saves nine. A simple ingredient in any food could spark an allergic reaction. Condolences to the family.

Allergy?

Mr. Edwards probably had an allergic reaction to what he ate.
