Antigua St. John’s - Police are investigating an incident that led to a 37-year-old man from Upper Gambles being treated at Mount St. John’s Medical Center for a gunshot wound to his arm.
At the time of the alleged shooting, the man was attending a private function on Summer Lane, Upper Gambles.
It is alleged that two men one approximately 5’ 9” tall, slimly built and dark in complexion, and the other about 5’ 11” in height, of fair complexion and also slimly built approached the victim and demanded that he hand over his jewellery.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Jamaican national is assisting police with their investigations after more than two pounds of cannabis was discovered in his suitcase at V.C. Bird International Airport on Friday.
During a search conducted by officers from the Narcotics Department and the Customs & Excise Division, Jerome Anthony Moss of Clarendon, Jamaica was found with 2¼ pounds of the controlled drug stashed in secret compartments of his suitcase.
Moss had arrived from Kingston, Jamaica on Caribbean Airlines Flight #419, and attracted the attention of the officers who, upon observation, concluded that he was behaving in a suspicious manner.
He is facing charges of importation of cannabis; possession of cannabis; possession with intent to transfer; and drug trafficking.
The substance carries an estimated street value of $9,000.
Police are also investigating the circumstances that left a Browne’s Avenue man nursing a stab wound to his abdomen.
That incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Saturday.
It is reported that the man was dancing in a band in the vicinity of T.N Kirnon School when he bumped into an unknown male and suddenly realised that he was wounded.
He was taken to Mount St. John’s Medical Center where doctors reported that the wound was serious but not life threatening.
Over the weekend, three men were arrested and charged for larceny of over 300 gallons of fuel.
