Antigua St. John’s – The public is asked to note that a number of fraudulent websites are purporting to sell tickets for the Summer London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and is therefore strongly advised against purchasing tickets from them.
The Office of Strategic Communication (STRATCOM) of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has provided information from the United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police Service which said the fraudulent company, Euroteam, is under active investigation.
“The following websites are operated by Euroteam and as such should be avoided:
www.euroteam.net;
www.tixnet.com;
www.olympicticket.info;
www.euroteam.info;
www.euroteamtickets.com;
www.2012tickets.org;
www.londonsummergames.net;
www.londonsummergames.org;
www.euroteam.travel;
www.worldticketservice.net
“We advise any individuals that have purchased tickets from these sites or any other unofficial vendor to contact the company direct and to also seek advice from your method of payment provider,” the Metropolitan release said.
“Persons who may have purchased tickets from any of these websites for the Olympic or Paralympic games, will not receive them,” Detective Superintendent of Police Nick Downing said.
“There is an ongoing investigation by the Norwegian Police into the wider activity of this company, and we know that the company (have) stated that they have not sourced all of the Olympic and Paralympic tickets that they have sold.”
