Autopsies Inconclusive

Autopsies InconclusiveAntigua St. John's - The autopsies performed on the bodies of two people who died under questionable circumstances have been ruled inconclusive until more extensive tests are performed.

That is the finding of the forensic pathologist, Dr. Mandi Pedican of the Bahamas, whose services were secured by the police department to conduct autopsies on the bodies of Trevor Deon ‘Tick’ Thomas and 13-year old Aneisha Millet of Bethesda.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Supt. Nuffield Burnette, confirmed that the pathologist’s report listed cause of death in both cases as ‘undetermined’.

Burnette said samples from the two bodies were taken and are to be sent off to an external laboratory for toxicology analysis. He said this will likely hold up the investigation into the deaths. He said his department will soon make a decision about where to send the samples (bodily and fluid) for more detailed analysis, the results of which may take weeks to determine.

In the case of Millet, Caribarena.com has been reliably informed that the pathologist ruled out drowning as a cause of death as there were no foreign elements in her lungs. Further, she discovered two fractures to the ribs that she does not believe were caused the body smashing against the rocks while it was in the water near Devil’s Bridge.

The autopsies on both bodies were performed on Friday.

Millet’s body was found floating in the water near Devil's Bridge on July 7. She was reported missing by the family several days earlier.

Thomas was remanded at Her Majesty’s Prison on the charge of murder of Dorothy Prince, who died following an armed robbery at the gas station where she worked. She was shot during the robbery and died a day later at the hospital.

Thomas complained of severe stomach pain and was rushed to the hospital, where he died on July 12, one day after he was admitted.

WE HAVE TO UNITE AND TAKE IT BACK TO CLOSE THE GATE NOW.

IN MY FAMILY WE NEVER THINK OF OURSELVES AS POOR, FINANCIALLY BROKE YES; BUT NOT POOR.BECAUSE WE HAD A BIG FAMILY AND WE KNOW THE POWER OF LOVE AND THE BENEFITS OF IT. MY FAMILY STRETCHED FROM ST JOHN TO FREETOWN AND FROM CEDARGROVE TO LIBERTA'S AND EVERYONE KNEW WHERE THE OTHERS WERE AT ALL TIMES. WHAT TRIGGERS THIS DECLINE AND SELF DISTRUCTION?THE INTELECTUALS GOT SELFISH,GREEDY, AND POWER HUNGRY, FORGETTING THE #1 RULE (TOGETHER WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL.

WHEN I LEFT ANHTIGUA IN 1969 MY COUNTRY WAS KNOWN AS THE PARADISE OF THE CARIBBEAN WHERE LAND AND SEA AND SUN BLESSED WITH 365 BEACHES CREATED AND SUSTAINED A TRANQUILITY SECOND TO NONE IN THE CARIBBEAN.NOW IT SEEMS HER MAGICAL POWERS ARE SUSPENDED OR CAPTURED BY SOME EVIL DEMOND. EVERYONE THAT VISITS HER SHORES EXPERIENCE THE HARMONY AND GOODWILL OF HER CITIZENS . BOTH THE HAVE'S AND THE HAVENOTS. AND NOW THINGS ARE BEGINING TO FALL APART.

They are just in denial. When it is not the world crisis,it is the foreigners. They just find it hard to accept that the Govt they soo proudly elected has turned out to be such dismal failures, instea d of blaming non-nationals they should focus on the fact that since the Upp took over Govt,we have had a different trend in criminality, loo k at the young girl in the park, the one from swetes school killed by another school mate, and the one who dissappeared from a salon in the Pigotts area, found later in some bushes, strangle d and half naked. Not to mention the # of young men murdered in gang realted crimes, even the Sea has claimed some young lives recently, the non-nationals were here long before those events,it is like something or someone is claming the lives of our young people more rapidly since this Govt took over, they must have bought some curse with them.Time for them to go,and take they evil with them.

O just shut up. What did your stint at the prison yield in terms of rehabilitation and re-empowerment of our misguided youth? NADA! Now you are blaming the ALP for today's social breakdown linking it to their policy of inclusion of ALL scattered sons and daughters of Klaas to regain their strength and dignity here in Walladli. Just shut up! I hope you sleep well in your winter years!

Correction from my last post, should be a direct connection between, high unemployment and crime. The statistics did not just focus on crimes among juveniles,it gave a broader picture of the actual effect it can have on families. The Govt must take its share of blame for this rapid deteioration of our society.

These are some proven statistics given by researcher, "Harvey Brenner" whose work examined the relationship between rising unemployment and various problems in society.Alarmin g as it may seem, these are some of his findings, among groups of persons who lost their jobs,or just could not find work for whatever reasons, taking into consideration the size of the popualation researched,we can make a comparison based on percentage. 37,000 deaths of which 20,000 were hearth related. 920 suicides,650 homocides, 500 deaths from cirrhosis of the liver, related to excessive alcohol consumption, 4000 mental institutions admission, 3500 prison admissions. The research also is in total disagreement with the assumption that persons do not care to work,it is an excuse authorities would like us to accept inorder to cover their failiure of not helping to provide work for people. Just thought i would share this, since it seem like too many A,guans are taking for granted or just simply fail to accept that their is a direct connection between juvenile delinquency and crime.

Although no should ever attempt to place all the blame at the feet of this or any other Govt for the brakedown in any society leading to increased criminal activities, there is absolutely no doubt that high unemployment leads to poverty which in turn leads to an environment that breeds delinquency, res ulting in all forms of negative behaviour. FYI,and for the info of others who refuse to let the Govt bare its fair share of blame for some of what we,re now experiencing in A,gua,i will share some readings from a an A,can college text book tittled " SOCIAL PROBLEMS,A CRITICAL APPROACH"

@ Eric, I hear you, but....

Greetings with One Aim, One Truth, One Destiny...Eric, I hear you, but I am not listening, or is ot I am listening, but can't hear you
.I agree with you to a certain degree, however, WE as Citizens, have to take some of the blame too, and there is enough of that to wrap Our warped Paliament into a golf ball the size of the Caribbean Sea. Parliament, meaning Ruling/Oppositi on/Citizens.
To treat a cancer which our Nation has developed, you must eradicate its root, and not just the malignancy which it causes. Yes, some cancers are curable. First you have to diagnose the causes, then aggressively attack, no relenting, no retreat, even in adverse situations. We know what is causing our Nation to be cancerous, this cancer called crime is curable. However, treating it as I mentioned in an earlier post, as a scratch and putting band aid on cannot work, AND, blame without action is pointless and useless. It's time to cut the tree (our warp Politicians) down, dig the root( the colonial system) up, BURN the lot in a bonfire, and use the ash to fertilize the new seedlings...Jah Guide in positive respect, harmony and love...

Governments should lead by example in matter of morals and ethics, but these basic values including respect for the santity of human life begin with the person, God wrote his laws on our hearts unless we are psychpathic we all no right from wrong.
We have exchange God truths for lies that is why sodomites are now ordained ministers and young girls think they can exchange sexual favors for money and older men abuse young girls and even children.
Poverty or a lack of formal education does not make a person a moral degenerate dismissing the laws of nature and the laws of God does that.

Jumbee Picknee – There are lots of us who shear your dream and would give anything to get our paradise back – but alas it may be gone forever. Our paradise started slipping away right after the 1975 general election and continued slipping till we completely lost it during the ’80 & 90s. All was lost when, as I have said before, the immigration laws of this country were ignored and our borders were deliberately left open – the ALP actively encouraged our “brothers & sisters” to enter this country without any checks and balances – what we in fact got (in most cases) were those who came from the lowest echelon of their solidities and had very little education and no money. This is exactly what the ALP wanted – those who came were grateful – they voted ALP. What is happening now is that we are reaping the results of what we sowed. They brought with them their customs and habits that has changed Antigua forever. These” brothers & sisters” are now 1st and 2nd generation Antiguan & Barbudans.

Unfortunately times are changing and so are men/women. I dont blame government for all the ills in our society because the bible says train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. If parents neglect their duties and find themselves in situations where children cannot be controlled then whose fault is that? If people are not satisfied with what they have or fail to work hard for what they want but instead choose a life of crime then whom do we blame?? there are many many persons in Antigua and across the world who have had difficult childhood where they were not blessed with all that the wanted but they had the basic needs and have used their difficult situations to chart a better course and improve their life. Not sure what can be done to change because unfortunately some damage is irrevocable.

Well those death sound fishy we want to know what's going on and who are doing the dirty works. In our country now it is soon time for your people to stand up and fight for the rights of our people and not think of our government who is currupting our people and causing our youths to end up doing crime. Remember my people crime builds the government pocket. So be wise. Bless to all.

...a time machine...

#1 Jumbee Picknee » 2012-07-22 03:28

As I reflect on my childhood on this beautifull island, I know that ' time' has progressed naturally, but I never in my wildest dreams thought I would witness this type of criminal behavior on Antigua
The authorities seem to be swamped. However, it seems like we're all waking up from a trip in H. G Wells "Time Machine,' and are asking, WHEN, will we learn to live together in true positive love, peace & harmony? Where did all those wonderfull yesterdays go? I know, I sound a bit naive, since huemankind has always been at odds with each other from time immortal, but this is Antigua, 'where land & sea makes beauty,' where it's people were the friendliest in the World, where you could visit a different beach every day of the year and felt like you were an enlightened being in Heaven. Well, ' back to life, back to reality.' Police, do a great job, WE WANT OUR PARADISE BACK.
