Antigua St. John’s – Police officers and personnel from the Customs and Excise Division are conducting investigations following the discovery of over 3 kilos of cocaine at the Point Warf on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that the Customs and Excise Division was conducting an auction sale at Point Warf, when a senior Customs Officer discovered three brown packages with the controlled drug cocaine concealed within.
It is also reported that before the auction, the packages were secured at the General Post Office for over a period of time because they were unclaimed, and thereafter ended up in the auction sale.
The total weight of the drugs was determined to be 3 kilos 400 grams, and carry an estimated street value of $119,340.
No arrests have been made in the matter so far; however, investigations are ongoing.
The police are investigating a report of attempted arson where some unknown person(s) attempted to set a classroom at the Ottos Comprehensive School on fire late Wednesday evening.
