Antigua St. John’s – The police are investigating a shooting incident in Point late Thursday night that left a 21-year-old man nursing a gunshot wound to his arm.
It is alleged that at around 9:50 pm, Shawn Josiah was walking home with friends when they heard what sounded like gunshots coming from a short distance behind them.
It was further reported that as the men ran for cover, Josiah was shot and wounded in the arm. He was taken to the hospital where it was determined that he sustained a single wound to his right arm, which was not life threatening.
No one else was injured in the incident. The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
Ironically at the time of the shooting incident the police had engaged the residents of point and Villa communities in a town hall meeting at the Villa Government school, discussing a wave of shooting in those communities.
Meanwhile, the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda (RPFAB) is inviting suitably qualified persons between the ages of 18 and 35 years to join its ranks.
