Antigua St John's - In a few weeks, punishment will be meted out to 23-year-old Damien O’Garro, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the unlawful killing of Cristina Urbaez Felix just over two years ago.
The conviction was handed down Tuesday in the High Court by Justice Keith Thom, and the prisoner was further remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) until his sentencing date on June 29.
O’Garro, of Factory Road, was initially charged with murdering the 34-year-old Dominican Republic woman, but he admitted guilt in causing her death on the lesser charge.
Felix was found dead at her Lionel Hurst Street residence in February of 2010, with a stab wound to her abdomen.
Justice Thom also convicted Orthnell Roberts of Bolans, Cedric Merchant of Potters and Glenroy Pilgrim of Willikies, who were jointly charged with possession of controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply.
