Antigua St John's - The police are investigating a report of wounding at Skerritt’s Pasture that left a 37-year-old Sutherlands man nursing stab wounds at the hospital.

Eddie Warner of Sutherlands is now a patient at the Mount St John's Medical Center after he was wounded by a man armed with an ice pick.

It is alleged Warner and a known male had an exchange of words which eventually led to a fight.

During the fight, the man allegedly used an ice pick to inflict the wounds to Warner's head, back, and left shoulder. He was rushed to the hospital by a man who was apparently in the area at the time.

Meanwhile, the police apprehended 22-year-old Kamou Omarie Phillip, aka “Bongo,” of Point Area, after issuing a wanted bulletin on Thursday. By lunch, officers received a tip that led to Phillips' arrest.

He had been wanted by the police in connection with a series of shootings and other offences in the Point and Villa communities.

Officers thanked the public for helping with Phillip's apprehension.
