Drugs Found in SuitcaseAntigua St John's - The ONDCP  recovered a suitcase containing 1.1 kg of cocaine at the VC Bird International Airport on May 15.

Officers of the ONDCP, while conducting routine checks, observed a suitcase with no identification except for a green string.



The suitcase was tested and found to be positive for cocaine. When checked, it was found to contain a package containing 1.1 kg of cocaine.

Checks were carried out and it is believed that the suitcase arrived aboard a LIAT flight from Guyana. The drugs has an estimated street value of $155,406.68.

I do see your point. Only in...actually it happens everywhere, sad as it may be.

While your logic makes perfect sense, more than likely, the pick up person was either someone within the customs/airport system who knows the runnings or they were tipped off that the authorities were surveiling the luggage. The drug system in our Nation is very intricate with personel in all areas, from law enforcement/cus toms/airlines etc. The other question which should be asked, how did this suitcase get on board a flight with so many checks and balances in place i.e. from infra-red to xray to chemical analysis machines at all ports....

I agree Julian. That would make perfect sense. This is a useless bust as far as I see.

I don't understand why the authorities don't wait for someone to come pick up the luggage in these instances & nab the traffickers one time...is this a no brainer, or am I missing something here?
